FFXIV FOR THE NINTENDO SWITCH

Specs of the Nintendo Switch, it could run FFXIV but I'm sure no one wants to deal with "Nintendo Switch limitations" as we just rid of the PS3. Square Enix is a partner for the Switch so it's possible. It also runs on the ARM architecture so porting it over would be a huge effort, unlikely to be worth it.

Its not more if it runs better or not. It is more about if Nintendo's design allows 3rd party to easily work on it. One of Wii U's faults was it's infrastructure was so arbitrary and hard to program that developers did not want to touch it. Nintendo said they built this in the mind that 3rd party can easily develop on it. They can release a PS4 like title, but it may need to be lower in spec to meet the requirements, but it still has the capability to play PS4/X1 games fine.

Both Dragon Quest XI and the new Sonic 2017 game confirmations help show this.

Nintendo hasn't announced the specs yet. So your link just leads to a rumour based on an unknown source. We will find out about the specs, when we get our hands on. And even then, nobody of us knows if FF14 will run on NS, because only Yoshi and his talented team, know the limitations of their engine, the game, the console and upcoming features they want to add. I think it is pointless to say either "yes, it works" or "no, not at all", like some are doing in this thread.

The graphics chip is pretty weak if those are the actual specs. A GTX1050 (about ~$110card) has 600~700 cores@1354.

Hope they don't support it with XIV. I want the limitations being omitted not compounded. The USA is finally starting to get affordable fast internet. Hopefully with PS3 unsupported this game start getting more aggressive in pushing out dope content. Assuming SE keeps updating their server tech as well.

I don't really like GCD. But if it is going to stay here, I would like to see it get faster with resources being the determiner of controlling skill spam.

I don't see FFXIV being on the NS, but I am always opened to being surprised. They did confirm DQ10: Online for the NS in Japan a while ago. We all should push SE into bringing that game here in some form.

Let's just say...IF...if FFXIV somehow manages to get ported to this...would anyone use it just for crafting and gathering classes?

I wouldn't pick this console up just to play FFXIV on it, but if I had it already I'd sure as heck use it to grind out some non-combat stuff on the go.

I got my PS4 in 2014 strictly for the upgrade to FFXIV from the PS3 version at the time. Many of my favorite games are on Xbox One, and if FFXIV released on Xbox One, I'd be done with PS4 altogether. Heck, I was even hoping for a Wii U version lol...
