*gasp*
I need to listen to the Magika OSTs again, but I keep getting distracted by other music lol
you call that epic? eww... my ears
I think when Nobuo Uematsu was creating music for FFXIV, he had only concept art to work on. I'd like to see what new creations he can make now and beyond if he was given the chance.
I personally like these kind of stuff.
i absolutely loved the many many many variations of battle music in final fantasy 11. the tracks were so fitting, and contained everything in formula that made a traditional final fantasy battle theme
lol i Love the existing music in FFXIV, i cant think of a single reason to change it.

The thing about the battle music is that if you listen closely parts of the battle music mirror the original field music (i think its called a leitmotif? I'm not too informed). The older La Noscea/black shroud music has parts that are in the battle music, so I think it fits great. Ul'dah's battle theme as far as I can tell doesnt have parts that coincide with the field music (which is why I might dislike it, along with the fact that I really don't like how it starts), but the guildleve music sure does.
Also, don't be dissin coerthas's battle music. Both pieces in that area are my favorites in the game by far.
