creating additional characters dont work while server is open

Hello,

I am not being able to make a secondary character while the server world i am on is in a open status for it. a few friends and i went to make secondary characters to play with while it was open and they were able to make more and i was denied. i am paying for the ability to make multiples on the same server as well. what can be done to solve this? or what can i do to fix it?

The server list only updates only every few hours even if the server only open for few minutes. Happens on Balmung all the time it will be open for a minute or two and then closes again, cause there probably plenty of other people are also trying to do the same thing.

The worlds are constantly opening/closing depending on how many players are logged in.

The webpage you are looking is only updated 5 times a day (see right near the very top it'll say about times it's updated). Although the webpage is only updated at those times, the server continue to change.

If you're on a very populated server, the only way to get a character onto it is either:

A) Wait until a maintenance and do it just before maintenance starts (as people are logging off) or just after it ends (before people get a chance to all log back in)
B) Create a character on another world, wait 3 days and pay for a server transfer (which doesn't care if the world is open or closed)
C) Just keep trying, possibly in the early hours of the morning may work when people are asleep, but again this depends on how busy your server is and how many people AFK on it.

Sorry, but I think you misunderstood what was being asked. What you've posted is if the servers are online or not. What the OP was asking was about creating a character on a server (whether it's open for character creation).

That means it's not open The only thing that is 100% correct with whether a server is open for new characters is the game itself. If it lets you create, it's open. If it doesn't, it's not.

The website (or other 3rd party websites) aren't live, they're showing the status at that point in time. With the official page there's a time at the top to show when that page was updated as well as it starts by saying "This information will be updated at the following intervals:". The server constantly opens/closes, the webpage does not constantly update to match it.

Sorry I have no experience with the world transfer tool myself, but from make sure you have the right data centre selected (if it gives you that option?) as well as I understand it actually asks you for the source server first, not the destination? Also your character has to meet all the requirements (I believe it tells you if it doesn't though?). Sorry bit vague on this part, but hope it's of some help!

Edit: Just saw another thread where someone can't do a paid world transfer to a full server so maybe they've stopped allowing paid transfers to override the closed server.
