Totally unrelated to the thread, but why the hell do people keep using apostrophes in their plurals? It's... so stupid.

I don't know about some people but when a word is weird or when I'm using acronyms in plural the apostrophe helps people recognise where the plural comes in to play.

multiple linkshells for instance- lss vs ls's (just a visual thing, less to do with grammar)

I think it's pretty much mandatory for acronyms to have apostrophes in their plural form (though I rarely do that, I would write LSs). It's mostly native speakers, too. Is there a brain thing of which I'm not aware that makes people write this way? O.o
