Or we can just leave them as they are. Unless you also want to every other race changed because some random person doesn't like 1 aspect of them. And then of course, the change will anger people who are playing that race, and want the change reverted, and it'll never end.

Those who want to stay the way they are can, those who want smaller neck can, everyone is happy and we can all eat cake together :3

As someone who roleplays an Elezen(and thus their appearance is the most important thing to me), leave my Elezen neck alone! First and foremost, I made the character because I like how she looks. If she gets changed, she won't be the character I intended her to be any more. Her looks play a big part in her personality.

But more importantly: I have seen people in the thread say things like that they wanted to play an Elezen, but because of their neck they played a Hume instead. All that tells me is that you want to play a human character. So do it. Elezen have a few things unique to their body structure that make them not just look like a blown up human. And other than Lalafels they are the only race that isn't just a human scaled to a different size and recolored with some added tails, ears, and horns.

I WISH every race looked more unique than they do, but unfortunately we are stuck with everyone just being different representations of humans. It's bad enough as it is, please stop trying to make everyone into the same thing.

"Stop liking things that look too human" is what i heard.

I like having characters with human proportions, i also like exciting features such as pointy ears. Am i a terrible person just for wanting that? Nobody's saying anything about changing YOUR character. I want MY character to look the way I want it to. Is that such a horrible thing?

there is nothing wrong with fantasy or whatever, but that doesn't mean proportions have to be thrown out the window. (imho) It just does not aesthetically look that great, and it seems the vast majority agree, or else they wouldn't get the same comments about the race all the time, or be so underplayed.

I think it is acceptable to leave the current elezen, and either improve upon them by adding more options or just add a mixed hyur + elf half race. I dunno...I really want to be an elf, but not with how they look right now

If I am correct the OP is asking for the option to pick an Elezen with shorter neck (since she/he mentions the PS3, I am guessing she/he is talking about expanding the Character Creation option), why are people against it? People that want to play as the current Elezen can stay the same and those that prefer to have shorter neck, can use the character creation tool to decrease (or increase) the neck of the Elezen.

If OP is asking to remove the current Elezen and replace it with one that he or she likes (shorter necks), then I have to agree with those that said: NO!

I had the impression it was the latter since it was about sweeping graphical changes, and I believe the 'PS3 restrictions' are for client-side issues while the limitation on the number of character creation options is a server restriction and unlikely to change any time soon. It felt weird to see someone playing a character of a race/gender combination that is (forgive me) rather round-headed and short-necked complaining about my preferred combination being too different to that.

If I'm wrong and if it's technically possible, I have no particular qualms with adding extra face options in future (for all races) as the more diversity in faces, the better the game is for everyone! However I wouldn't really like them to make the options so divergent that players with 'classic' Elezen looked like a completely different race to those with the new, cuter-looking versions. A future option in an expansion to play as something closer to Alphinaud/Alisaie could be interesting even if I'm sticking with my gangly yaoi-handed fully-grown Duskwight forever.
