Any legit way to get top 3 in Triple Triad Tournaments?

I have been doing triple triad tournaments for many weeks now, and although I sometimes scrape by and make it into the top 20, I never get high enough to get the special cards that the top 3 ranking players get.

I am usually dueling King Elmer and have very high win rate, but even people with 0 wins are sometimes knocking me off top 20 so what chance do I have to get in top 3?

Is there some other NPC I can duel that gives better rewards? I really don't want to trade wins like other people are doing, so I guess I won't ever get in the top 3 rankings unless Square changes how tournaments score points.

Nope, win traders lock the top spots out 9 times out of 10, even hitting top 20 is a serious accomplishment tbh

Playing against other people will give you better points/rewards than NPCs. And no, that doesnt equal win-traiding, you can just, you know, see if anyone wants to play against you in honest matches.

To be fair, you shouldn't be able to place top tier battling NPCs. Rigging wins is still a problem, but you should at least need to play other players to place well. Can you use the new df function for tournament?

I think a DF function would work better however it would take more time to setup. Or they could just make a unique tournament that can only be done in the Battlehall and just increase the range of rewards by Server Cluster. Heck maybe something else that be nice is the ability to buy Platinum packs based on the amount you've earned. So if you've earned 10 Plat Packs through the Tourney, then you could pay 50k or maybe 25k to buy a pack from the vendor but you would be limited by the amount of packs you had earned.

You can try to get to the top of the triple triad tournament by playing other players using the new duty finder... oh wait SE stupidly only allows you to play against other players in the local area. I actually have no idea whatsoever why SE created that new triple triad locations as its the exact one we already have with just new npcs to play against?

Have hope. I never placed top three but still got consolation cards packs as prizes which have chance for the same cards. I now have all tournament rewards from the RNG gods. So it will happen eventually, just not as fast as winning top 3. But yeah, find one other player to just play matches with. I never win trade. I just have one fc mate that we crank out all triad matches on last day. We don't even use real decks as I have more cards so its unfair. We make theme decks or our own stupid rules. Most tourneys we end up too 20. Occasionally top 10. The highest I ever got was number 5. Must have been a slow week that tourney.

More time for what? This already isn't a bracket type tournament; adding DF capability would just allow players to do what they can now without needing to be next to their opponent.
