technical questions for the DEV team

just a couple of things i've been wondering about really, and would love a community rep to ask the devs for answers.

    1) With the core programming being in such a poor state, the game has to be re-created. So does that mean that any new content added to the game has to be adjusted when 2.0's core programming is up and running?

    2) Someone mentioned with each patch the new servers are also updated. So i guess this is a 2 fold question, A) being do you have the new servers in your possession? If so, why the prolonged delay in switching to the new servers? I know its a little bit more complicated but why not install the current version up on the new servers, port over the character data and all long with it and gt the new servers up and running now?

    3) I've joked around with some of my linkshell mates about SE using the left over servers from XI's server merge for XIV. From a financial standpoint, this actually makes alot of sence, especialy as the game has been free to play for over a year. so the question here is, am i right? If not, what kind of specs do the current servers have? technology behind the games i play is always of keen interest.

    4) In the 100 page long list of bugs, errors, issues, problems and incompatabilities, theres complications in moving the data from the old server to the new one. We've already heard of instances where character data has been corrupted on the servers and people have lost thier characters. SE's responce to this is "There's nothing we can do." During the server change, will you be cloning the character and retainer server drives in order to have a backup of this data should anyone happen to come across this problem from the server change? If so this should allow SE to resurect a players character/retainer details.

    5) will the new servers have backups incase of data corruption in future? What safe gaurds will WE have from server failiure at your end?

    6) SE forums are for the larger part made up of people who are there simply to troll. Why does SE not have community moderators? moderators made up of community members in order to keep the forums less of a troll magnet?

    general notes:

this is addressed more to the developement team, give this post a like if its spiked your curiosity or you want these answered too.

give this post a like if you feel that SE doesn't have to reiterate for the millionth time that no character data will be lost in transition, and that converting old data into new data is not as easy and quick as flipping a hamburger.

It's not the server hardware that's the problem based on my reading of most of the interviews about 2.0; it's the software. The server application itself, including the data structures and methods to move them around and communicate with the game client, has architectural flaws that necessitate the creation of the new server app 2.0. Yoshi-P says that development is proceeding according to schedule, so go check the road map and see where they should be. I think the new server program is already running in testing and the tools for creating new content for it are in active development, but I may have that second part wrong.

just curious but with all these screw ups, you would think that tons of people who built the software would of gotten fired? i know tanaka and some of his people got removed? but it sounds like a hole lot of people at fault no?

also surprised that these fired people don't have a story to tell , wink wink. one of them needs to blog all the truth on the net, less there weren't any fired people witch would confuse me.

tbh im surprised more people dont want some real answers instead if the typical scripted crap responce we get.

@ kwestro - these questions direct queries directly and demand a full and complete answer, not just some "nothing to worry about" bs answer. and what gives you the right to demean someone elses post?
