Final Fantasy X's Monster Arena for Final Fantasy XIV

I think Final Fantasy X's Monster Arena was an awesome system that could be added to Final Fantasy XIV to bringing a wide range of possibilities:

- FFXIV players could enjoy exploring every single corner of Eorzea, using monster-capturing weapons for capturing monsters solo or with friends (the hardest ones). Collect-them-all!
- Lot of rewards based on captured monsters!
- Players capable of fight captured monsters for gil!
- Unlock NMs and HNMs only available through Monster Arena!
- Fight one or more monsters in a row for rewards (experience points/regular drops)!
- And much more!

This was really cool when they added it to FFXI! The first monster I captured ones one of those red dragons from the Aht'urgan expansion (Dahak!). It was fun watching other monsters battle, too.... However, the excitement died after a few weeks and the zone became barren because everyone grew terribly bored with it. Almost nobody uses it in FFXI anymore.

Maybe if they added better rewards it would be more popular.

Its called re-inventing. They can use a similar idea like the Monster Arena and make it better.

Just because something has been done once succesfully, doesn't mean it should never be repeated ever again.

Its not about "capture them" ... its only a gameplay-style-like competition when you already defeated those bosses. i mean it could be represented as a dream, a nightmare.

In AION you have such kind of Arena... where you fight in rounds(stages) and competing against one boss after an other. and the appearance of the arena changes as well appropiate to the boss' appearance. its hard to reach the 10th stage. its something for the hardcore players, who reached everything:

But i think its too early for that for FFXIV. thats something for the 3. or 4. addon ;D

final fantasy has always recycled ideas from the series, final fantasy 9, was almost a remake of final fantasy 4, they used that much from the game. but there was enough different about 9 that it was original and great

the idea of monster catching "yes please!"
