Sell Physical Reward Items on Mogstation for Same Price?

A lot of people just buy the merchandise to get the in-game items/minions/music/poses/etc. Yet sometimes it's nearly impossible to purchase an item through the online store. And waitlists either don't always work, or things just don't get restocked.

Today the Encyclopedia Eorzea Book sold out within an hour during a work day, before many people even realized it had been posted.

People who work full time jobs, are parents, or have mid-day responsibilities, should not be left out just because they can't log in during an hour-long period when items are posted or re-stocked.

So why not just sell the minions, emotes, etc for the -exact- same price as the physical item online. E.g. if Encyclopedia Eorzea is $50, sell the namingway minion for $50.

Or alternatively, create a "waiting list" system where people can pay for the item ahead of time, get a code for the minion by email, and receive the item whenever stock can be made in the future (with a refund if the item can no longer be made).

Most of those that I know that get the physical items do so to get the physical items.

As a frequent purchaser of physical merchandise myself, I'd rather see the digital goods on offer (following an appropriate period of time where it's only available as the bonus to a physical good) for a reasonable price.

Call them premium minions and sell them for like $10, in my opinion.

I was never a merchandise type person but I did buy the Caith Sith Plushie just to get the in game ears and just pre ordered the Odin statue. Thankfully Odin is one of my favorite characters being Lightnings Eidolen in XIII.

I feel like selling a $100+ emote on the store of a subscription game would be kinda bad PR.

I understand why people would want this though for stuff that have first print bonuses that never get restocked.

I think the change to Veteran Rewards could be a good way to allow players to obtain rewards that would of otherwise only been available through the physical items being bought. SE does have a good amount of Mog Station items in the game already along with other items only gained through buying certain products that it would be a good move on their part to just offer rewards to players who stay subbed.

As for cost, doing a 1-1 ratio would be an awful idea since the in-game item is suppose to be a perk of the purchase not part of the cost. So you are paying 50 for the book and getting the minion for free. If they were to make the minion purchasable on mog station it would potentially be something like 10 dollars but again, it might be better if these items serve as veteran rewards options than putting them in the mog station.
