WMVCore.dll missing

Greetings everyone.

After a one year break, my brother tried to log into his account after having re-activated it and installing Heavensward as well. He ran the updates, everything seemed fine.

However, as you may already glean from the title, he got the WMVCore.dll error message after clicking on "Play". I then showed him the link to the Windows 10 Media Feature Pack that had been able to resolve the issue for many others before. He made sure he installed it correctly but even after restarting his computer, the error message was still showing up.

He's gotten quite upset because of this, thinking that there is no way to fix it. I hope I can find help here as I'm really at a loss right now. Thanks in advance for any advice.

PS: I probably should add that the game worked perfectly fine when he participated in the Free Login Campaign this year. That's why we're so confused.

I had the same problem when Windows 10 made a big update recenty (anniversary update). Previous feature pack downloads would not work anymore.
I am not sure this is the right one, as I am not on my gaming PC, but try downloading the pack here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=53356. It was released roughly at the same time as the anniversary update.
