    So it's...sort of a bug?

You may need to speak to the printing supplier in the EU to make sure they take extra care when binding the books. I received mine today and it's upside down and back to front.

I'm keeping it because I find it really funny, but some people may not be as receptive to this printing error!

    Upside Doooooown
Flip book upside down and open from the back to access the start of the Lore Book!

Doesn't really matter what way you set it because this is the back of the book right here... <_<

    HEADING: The Garlean Empire
    SUBHEADING: Solus zos Galvus

Potential inconsistency: The biography of Solus mentions that his "firstborn" son died "still young". However, in Patch 2.4, the Eorzean Alliance (in pursuit of the Ivy) seemed to say that the death of the "crown prince", his "eldest" son, was what led to the internal strife between the grandson (Varis) and the uncle (dude whose coffin has Varis' spit on it) in the first place. I'd considered that the "firstborn" might have died young and that the recently-"eldest" was perhaps his second or third son. However, if Varis has a strong claim that was challenged by his uncle, the SECOND son of Solus, that can't be, right? He'd have to be the son of the firstborn? Which means he died young, but not that young, right? Recently?

Or am I missing something obvious? I'm bad at this type of pseudomathematical thinking, lol.

All of this comes to my attention because I'd taken 2.4 as saying that the crown prince had died at an awfully inconvenient time - when the Emperor was on his sickbed. (I'd entertained the possibility that perhaps something had happened to him by design, though there's really not that much evidence for it, even today.)

(Also, lol at the upside down book cover. I'd seen someone with an upside down Lalafell page, but the whole book!? And here I thought a first edition with a few inconsistencies and typos might be a collector's item one day...)

Says that (in Ishgard's version of the founding tale) King Thordan was cast into a ravine by Nidhogg. When told the tale by Alberic, he says that Thordan was thrown into a chasm by one of his own men (seduced by Nidhogg). That probably still counts, right? Cast into a ravine by Nidhogg by proxy? Before I forget about it, though, it just seemed like something one of those tiny details that, if it stayed in the scripture for a thousand years, Ishgard might have given some meaning.

Don't know if this is a bug, but something is missing from the entry of Nael van Darnus. Or rather "Nael van Darnus". We learn that the true Nael died long ago and his sister Eula took over his place.
Problem is, every Garlean has a honorific of some sort, yet Naeula is only called Eula Darnus. Of course publicly she is van Darnus, but before the switch she had to have something. Even the normal citizen of annexed territories have aan as a title. As chirurgeon she should probably have jen (title for Medicus) or maybe a title for belonging to a noble house. (House Darnus suggests that the Darnus family is not a simple one.)

    HEADING: Ul'dah
    SUBHEADING: Overview / Flag

Honestly, I'm not sure what the hells I'm reporting with this one; something just seems like it might be amiss.

The book refers to the flag of Ul'dah as having the Jewel of Prosperity (left) balancing the Flame of Might (right). The latter, it says, was inherited from the scales used by Belah'dia, which balanced the Flame and the Grapes of Knowledge, the symbol taken by Sil'dih upon the divison. However, in the Sunken Temple of Qarn, the tablets are said to be the Gem of Affluence, the Flame of Magic, the Fruit of Knowledge, and the Helm of Might.

Is it weird that all of those are different, or is the distortion of history in-world? I can see Ul'dah deciding it wants aetherial might over steel might and just taking the Helm's theme. I can see the "Gem of Affluence" becoming the "Jewel of Prosperity" over the ages. I can see scholars stewarding the name of the "Fruit of Knowledge" incorrectly.

But I can also see this all being a product of the JP client having just the symbol (Flame, Grapes, Diamond, Helmet) on the tablets with the meanings being attached to the vaults (Magic, Knowledge, Wealth, Might), too, so ... maybe I'm reporting something, maybe I'm not.

It's not like archaeological evidence never called our historical record into question in the real-world.

This true Raimdelle Codex entry (by the man himself) says that mammets were invented "five score" years ago. (100 Years)
But Serendipity tells you this year that Mnejing is the first mammet ever built and is ... one century old. (100 Years)

So it's accurate, but ... Frandelont Raimdelle lived, like, centuries ago, didn't he? He can't still be alive, can he...?

(He didn't take those duck jokes personally, did he...?)

Outspoken purveyors of harmony, the Sharlayan shunned nearly all endeavors and advancements concerning the propagation of war.
One is plural, one is singular. Sharlayan? The Sharlayans?

Can we put the "confirmed bugs" in the main post? It would help, so we can check them faster than lurking all the pages! Or just put a link to the confirmed bug post :3

Thanks for the awesome work, getting my book soon!

    Hello everyone!

So I was thinking since the Lore Book is sold out in the online store, will the restock come with the corrections?
Also I like the idea to be able to buy the book in Amazon or in similar stores because I don't live in the United States or in Europe T^T
    Thank you very much!
