Literally or figuratively, to share a bed means to become a pair.

In English, "to be in bed with" is an idiom for having a mutually beneficial alliance.

So "strange bedfellows" is when such an alliance is unexpected or unusual - that it's an unlikely pair.
(It's a term that Shakespeare made up.)

By extension, any unusual or unexpected combination of things become "strange" or "interesting" bedfellows.
(To the point that you might hear, of a food, "Wow, these ingredients make for strange bedfellows, but it's delicious.")

And then this context is a play on that.

Amon's genius and obsessive nature made for a dangerous combination.
