    Hello all,

I know that this goes without saying and that I am (as I am wont do do) probably overthinking the situation, but...

After posting yesterday, I started thinking about the message and how I may have made it sound like the fault for the various errata that made it into the final version should in some way be placed at the feet of the many testers who worked on the lore book. I wanted step in again to make it clear that this was most definitely not my intention. The translators and fact checkers in the Localization Department, as well as the talented men and women on our world-class Quality Assurance busted their asses (pardon my French) to make sure this book was as clean as it could be. If anyone needs to shoulder the blame for the typos, flubs, and (hangs head in shame) factual errors, it is me, for I was in charge of approving those final edits. (Or me for not figuring a way to get Anonymoose on the editing board!)

That said, I continue to be amazed and humbled at how the book has been received by the community. I know a lot of you have waited so long for something like this, and I am proud to have been given the chance to be a part of it. This is probably why those errors pain me the most. I’ll do my best to address the majority of the glaring discrepancies here in this thread. As for the spelling and grammatical errors? Any way we can file them under analog charm? No?

I mean, it gives the lore book its old tome quality, cause there are no records a single scribe or writer of the older 16th century that were good at keeping up with writing, not to mention English wasn't standardized till later soooooooooooo I'm good with typos LOL

+1 for getting Moose on the editing board!

Though in all seriousness, mistakes happen The things I've read from this thread are nowhere even remotely near as bad as a few fantasy books I've bought and had to actually get a refund for because they were completely unreadable..

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    HEADING: Aenor Cockburne

In the text it claims Aenor is of the Midlander clan, however her model is decidedly that of a Highlander woman. Unlike some other characters who use Midlander models and are actually Highlanders (Minfillia, Yda, etc.) since there were no Highlander lady models in 1.0 this one is perhaps in error then?

I feel like when you've written and/or read something a few dozen times, it's nigh impossible to quiet the knowledge of what should be there so you can accurately see what's actually there. And in your team's case, you also have the fact that a 1.x doc and an ARR doc might both be accurately sourced, but actually inconsistent. And on top of that, you have that grammar and syntax is but a small portion of the battle compared to in-world jargon, labels, and minutiae (that may or may not be in the intended state at the time in the first place).

Meanwhile, I've a physical copy of the book, a group of excited friends, Google, every record I've ever archived, a cold drink, and a relaxed pace. Who knows how well I (or anyone else) would be doing in an alternate timeline.

And frankly I will fight hoof and antler he who saith the team didn't land inches from the cup in one swing. Hitting the border of kickass and perfection ain't nothin' to shake a red pen at.

So long as we can actually get a chance to purchase it, I'll be fine with typos D:

While minor lore inconsistencies are acceptable, spelling mistakes in a professional print version are not. The team involved in editing absolutely should not be given a free pass on that because it dilutes confidence in the quality of your work that you are asking customers to pay for.

Hit F7 for Gods sake. A simple spell check could have fixed those issues.

The vast majority of spelling mistakes in the book are a bunch of fantasy names and terms that would show up on Spellcheck regardless of whether they were spelled correctly. I'm seeing like one legitimate spelling error in this thread ("aughter" vs "daughter"); everything else is something that would be incredibly easy to slip through the cracks.

That's not to say that the QA team behind this book shouldn't strive for improvements, but it's quite a bit more complicated than F7.
