    Considering how odd and intimidating it was for me to start classes at 30 with all of the actions sitting there confusing me, the prospect of a full lev 60 and all of its abilities at once is kind of not good.

    I am glad for palace of the dead because it allowed me to try the class with the abilities locked up at level 1 but I think it might cause some further degradation of the general level of job knowledge in the playerbase if we just have new players pop in to lev 60 jobs. Even setting aside learning curve for new jobs, the amount of burn out and running out of things to do would also go up fast.

    Things like Wondrous tales, relic/anima, mentor system and hunt mobs can bring endgame players back to arr content and hw if Se really wanted us to legitimately spend some more time there so that new players were not alone. [SE can throw some glams/skirts/boots over there or a mount and I will definitely spend more time lol] I think its great how GC squadrons are making cities busy again that were not formerly busy all the time. Prior to this patch, Uldah was a ghost town pretty much but now people populate the area and intermingle with new players.

    I really dont understand the problem with just doing the story, its rather interessting and if you dont care for the story you can just skip it all and get free exp/free gil/items especially while lvling. ARR quests might be annoying because its a lot "go talk to X now come back to me" Quests but HW doesnt have it that much. They really improved the way they do the story.

    I wouldn't want a fresh player in lvl 60 dungeons in this game. This isn't WoW where your rotation is basically 1-2-3-4-1-1-1-2-3-1-1-1-2-3-1-1-1-2-3-4-. I do not want level 60 dungeons to either take 60 minutes, if going as tank or heal, or be a wipefest, if I go as DPS. I do not want to have to progress Gubal Library Hard each time I enter it...

    Another thing to note is that the combat system is going to change in 4.0 which, in turn, means that it will be beneficial for both new and old players alike to go through older content to learn how to deal with the changes.

    What about a veteran player who started to level a new job doing nothing but fates and maybe PotD? We already have those-- I'm one of them. People genuinely interested in the game will learn how to play of their own volition. Those who couldn't care less, aren't going to suddenly play better because you forced them through the MSQ. If that were the case, we wouldn't see ice mages or healers who flat out refuse to DPS. And let's be honest, I could spam nothing but Impulse Drive through Xelphatol and it still wouldn't take 60 minutes. Dungeons are laughably easy.

    There isn't a problem. Some people just aren't interested in the story. What you or I find appealing someone else may think is boring anime cliche. It's all subjective. If they're skipping the story anyway, then why do you care if a jump potion were introduced? It wouldn't impact you or your enjoyment of the story.

    I do wish people would stop trying to use the "if they were instant 60 they wouldn't know how to play" when I would like to think a good majority of us already run into people like that now who have all 60s or at least multiple. If a newbie joins and wishes to learn he will look up a guide or ask for help and practice. It's already been mentioned but I recall the biggest gripe we saw on the forums was simply the rage of "Why do I have to finish MSQ to play _job_!?" I can forsee that being a LOT worse if the new jobs also get locked behind yet another expansion. Said it a few pages back but will restate, long as the classes themselves are not strictly locked behind the HW MSQ I'd like to think most people will be fine to a degree. To be honest, the idea of making an alt just makes me rethink it all together when I picture running through ARR and HW again.

    It would impact the number of bad players at endgame, and make the community even more toxic than it already is. We have set rotations in this game, many of which you will not understand unless you leveled the class from scratch. I also don't know about you, but many will end up just kicking new players or refusing to use the DF at all due to the amount of bad players out there. Remember the amount of bad DRK/AST/MCH just from the dungeons under level 50? Imagine all those bad players, except at level 60 dungeons without knowing how to play their class. Rather than go through all this and make the community downright horrible, we can have all the new players go through the main story and get there, which by the time they get there, they will know a rotation, know various boss mechanics, and at least be decent enough to get through stuff.

    As AlphaFox said, if someone wants to learn how to play the Job, they will do just that. DRG's Job quest from 30-50 doesn't even teach you how to play DRG, for example. Nor does BLM.

    In fact, nothing in this game teaches you how to do anything. You either read the tool tips when you learn the abilities, look up guides, or find out when a random person in your party informs you you're doing something wrong (and you do not throw a hissy fit or use "my sub my way" excuses. That just gets you justifiably kicked).

    Make leveling in Xpack from 1, and make it all open world leveling content where shit is impossible to solo. Bring back the Massive in MMO. I'm tired of duty,dungeon roulette and there will be one million SAMS running around the map along with other new classes and it will be glorious!
