Watched it for free, and it was... okay? I guess? I wouldn't pay 30 dollars to watch the whole thing tho. There was nothing really ground-breaking about the stream, except maybe the outfit but I'm not going to pay 30 dollar for an outfit and a minion, thanks.
I don't really recall seeing anyone say SE was "poor" per say, and I did read the entire thread. I remember people saying they have expenses like any other company, which is true. Organizing events like this isn't cheap, so they need to find some way to try and break even and make a profit, just like any other company would.

Worth is subjective. That's fine if you don't think the outfit/minion/stream was worth the $30.

They use the fact that SE is a company to excuse any move SE does so yeah, for me it's the same as saying "OMG SE IS SO POOR".
And of course, worth it subjective. You can pay $500 for an apple if you want. Does it make less greedy to actually charge $500 for an apple? I don't think so. Just because something is subjective doesn't mean that we shouldn't discuss if SE is exaggerating. There will be always someone who will pay and be happy with it. Saying that something is "subjective" doesn't really say anything.

While I respect your opinion, you also cannot expect companies to just hand out stuff for free either. And most companies won't, because every company's goals are to be successful and make money. And I am using the general "you" here, not meaning you personally. I get the feeling a lot of people just want things for free, but that's to be expected nowadays given how most people want to just feel entitled to everything without having to work for it.

I think it was completely worth it, but then I attended the actual event.

I would feel bad if I got to see all the important stuff (keynote, panels, concert) for free when people have to pay $135 USD + possible airfare and hotel. Yeah, they're there in person and get to experience everything and there's a bunch of other stuff stream viewers don't get but that's why the stream is a lot less than $135. That's just me though.

I don't. If I was the person that expect free stuff for everything, I wouldn't even pay my sub, would I? And I think that it's the case for most people here.
My point is that just because a company is a company doesn't mean that this justifies every greedy move. It's not like Square Enix isn't making money. I mean, they sold tons of merchs, the tickets for the event, etc. They get the money from our subs, the expansion and base-game, mogstation items and so on. And yet they charge $30 for a stream that doesn't really say anything and is free to watch minutes after the release. One thing it would be to make the entire event free, and no one would have to pay for tickets and so on. Which is not the case. But $30 for some vague information about the game the game we pay to play. Is it okay? Are the players entitled because they do not think that this is cool? I don't really think so. I'm not even going to talk about making the stream free (even though I think that it should), but $30? I think that criticism is different from feeling entitled. We must draw the line and discuss, because companies won't do it for us. Anyway. That's how I feel at least.

I doubt that people go to the fanfest only for information. I mean, there's a live thread on reddit with all the information for free. It's all about the experience.

Reading text is a lot different than watching it though. Like you said, the experience.

Fanfest being piecemeal also makes it more expensive (I would probably say $90 for all streams plus currency conversion so probably closer to 100$) but includes more regions.
The biggest issue I have is the fact that because the fan feast is held on 3 different location, hence the info won't be fully release in any of the 3 event but you will still likely need to pay the same price to access them all. I think that's why they included the in-game bonus to work around it. I don't know, I'm ok with paying $30 for one stream but not $90 for 3 stream with mostly the same content outside of the in-game bonus. Not to mentioned the third set of clothing token is efficiently wasted since it's most likely not tradeable unless RMT.

Please see my post where I said I was using the general "you" and not meaning you you. With regards to the rest of the player base, I'm sure a lot don't expect things to be handed to them. However, I see a bunch of threads with people basically wanting stuff without putting any/minimal effort into obtaining them, so I still think there are people that feel entitled to things.

Again, my issue doesn't lie with people disagreeing over the price of the stream, or the worth of it. Like I said in a previous post, I thought the $30 was a bit much myself, but it was more worth it to me to pay that and watch it from my house than the $1,000+ it would have cost me to actually go to Vegas (as much as I did want that experience, I just can't afford it right now). My issue lies with those that want to make those that did pay for the stream, or did think the stream was worth the money, feel bad, or feel like they are wasting their money on something, which isn't necessarily the case to the person who bought the item. I can say the same for those that disagree with the cash shop and put down those that buy from it. But, I digress.

Which is exactly why I didn't bother paying for it. I knew people would leak it. Happens all the time to artists on patreon.
They think they can hide their art behind a paywall when all it takes is one person to pledge, DL high res files, cancel the sub and give it to their friends.
    The internet is for pirates.
