Well its because a emote really doesn't affect you.

And selling the high end raid equip would only affect you positively, as the players that buy it would be able to carry the players in worse equip better with their higher output. PvP is synced, so no advantage there and you don't get an advantage on the Market Board game either.

And if you can't afford it, you can still just do the raids yourself and get the weapons that way. Not only does selling power like that positively affect other players, they can also get it via ingame means if they cannot afford it. Seems much better than exclusive cosmetics from a rational point of view. Even more so when you consider that the equipment will become outdated anyway.

Irrationally, people will be screaming at the notion! Just watch.

I'm saying your way of thinking is wrong, and that your priorities are in the wrong places, that's all. I used the not-playing thing as an example, I'm not saying you don't deserve it or that you shouldn't have the opportunity, but the fact that a vanity item affects you negatively (outside of racism and stereotyping but let's not go into that) is very dramatic and attention-seeking. I am so annoyed that the Odin emote is locked to buying a figure that's over 100$ I understand minions, and furniture coming with merchandise, but they weren't over 100$ They were like 50$ There is no way most people can afford this.

You're not paying $130 for an emote, you're paying $130 for a model of Odin. The emote is a gift for buying it. A quick search of amazon pr jbox shows that the price is pretty standard for high detail decorative statues.
