Whales, some people will toss money at anything, has the cash shop being there not givin you any indication that people will throw money at anything? luckly for me i don't give 2 craps about that emote so i am fine with not wasting 100 bucks for a emote you'll likely forget about after a day or 2 of spamming it.
People that desire such an item will find the means to obtain it, as is the basics of supply and demand.
The additional bonuses of merch should never be used as part of the selling point, since they're just extra bits for fun as a way of thanking the players for their above and beyond support of the game. One such as myself, who has bought the art book, did not buy it for the Airship Cid minion, but rather for the unique content within. It will be the same when I possibly purchase the lore book on Monday, since I want a piece of the game forever outside of the game, so to speak.
All the vanity in this game should never be a major factor in how one enjoy's the game itself, since the /mandervilledance of today may be the go the way of Pokemon GO, and not be so popular at a later point in time. Also, an exercise in learning to make the best with what one has is always needed, since there will almost always be players with access to something beyond the grasp of another player, for that is life. Some people want a house in Eorzea, while other people wouldn't mind an attack helicopter to play paintball, despite it being one of the biggest money sinks of all time in that fictional scenario.
tl;dr = Be happy with what one has, play the game for the fun of the game
Legacy Player and XI Vet, always willing to help those in need.
I am the Dork Knight, the tank you need for DF ques, but not the tank you deserve.
I think the term "Collector" is a bit more appropriate, since the individual is buying a statue with the bonus of an ingame emote, not an ingame emote with the bonus of a statue.Whales, some people will toss money at anything, has the cash shop being there not givin you any indication that people will throw money at anything? luckly for me i don't give 2 craps about that emote so i am fine with not wasting 100 bucks for a emote you'll likely forget about after a day or 2 of spamming it.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
lol, collector is fine, an old freind of mine is a game collector and his home was stacked with ancient games wall to wall.. so i know how they think, my post was directed towards people ONLY being for the emote, like toss or basement the figurine but pay that much for an emote.
If you barely can afford the sub, you shouldnt Even think about buying things like emote or mog station items.
