If you only checked Square Enix's store, you would have known this simply isn't true. Every single statue/action figure they have is priced anywhere from $120 to $149 with the exception of all a few being less. None of them include emotes for their respective games. The Odin emote is little more than a thank you gesture, and carries along their theme of adding something in-game to all of their merchandise.

And people also forget our sub pays for patch content, which does include mounts, minions and glamour. They also assume if it wasn't for the cash shop, all this stuff would be in the game. Like DLC, that wouldn't be the case. We simply wouldn't get it at all. DLC/Cash shops/online stores are how publishers offset the rapidly increasing costs to develop games nowadays. They raised the prices and people did nothing but complain $60-80 is too much for a game. Therefore, this is their alternative. Some will pay for bonus content or collectibles, others won't. If you dislike a price, don't buy it. I really wanted the Chinese outfit, but still haven't felt it worth $18 ($24 Canadian). So I skipped out of it for now.

Wasn't it explicitly stated that they rolled a significant portion of the profit from the game back into the servers and development for 4.0? Seems like the cash shop is part of that profit, so when we're all enjoying expanded inventory, perhaps we need to thank those who do spend more than others on the game in general?

Yes at Fan Fest they said they were putting more money into the game from profits. I personally think a lot of the game's profits were going into anything related to ff15 for a time.

Even the Heavensward collectors edition allowed the ability to buy the ingame items separately. We should be discouraging this practice, not accepting it.

Nono you see, I got the physical collectors edition of heavensward when the expac dropped. The dragon statue, the artbook, a soundtrack. But no minion codes with anything. I think the artbook at least should have come with one but it did not. What gives?

I was more refering to that there is also a digital version of the collector edition. And in that way you basicly pay extra for the digital extras since the Collector Edition costs more than the Normal version.

But you're saying that you didn't get the code for the Kain minion? If so that's weird since it should be included. Did you send a ticket about it?

Considering a lot of the merchandise they put out keeps selling out in a day I doubt they are going to change their policies anytime soon.

I feel like the statue is worth its price, and that the emote should also come with the Sleiphnir mount as well. At least that is a reasonable option for the common player.

That would have been a great bundle. Statue, emote and mount (It's $200 for the statue in AUD)
I hope the detailing in the statue is quite nice for those who are going to buy it, it looks intricate in the stock images.
