its not something that can't be done. the livestream ticket is literally access rights. Theres literally nothing on the back end that needs to be done to support more people.

They should just throw a unique access key in the goodie bag next time. I mean the people that are actually at the event already paid to access the event who cares if they want to attend certain panels in person or watch it on their tablet somewhere else.
Issue regarding that is said people then selling off those codes for complete profit, given they paid nothing extra for it, or even just handing it off to a friend, in which case is money lost for SE as it's impossible to know said individual would have paid or not so every possibility must be considered a loss. This could only be a possibility were they able to secure said codes to the people who received them first-hand.
That said, I feel exceptions should be considered regarding situations like OP's; life happens and sometimes especially already at the con, support should make a judgement call and consider offering a ticket.
If they really want to secure it, link the code to the ticket number and have them login with their SE account to authenticate the pass, record the first login and lock the stream to that device. Sure, some people might still get through who are friends but at least they won't be scalped as much. Or just auto-do it where there is no code, it just auto applies access to the SE account that bought the ticket and use the account to authenticate, lock the stream to first device to prevent sharing.Issue regarding that is said people then selling off those codes for complete profit, given they paid nothing extra for it, or even just handing it off to a friend, in which case is money lost for SE as it's impossible to know said individual would have paid or not so every possibility must be considered a loss. Yeah of course there might be issues with (if it happened) attendees reselling the stream passes. If the pass was only eligible for the livestream and vods for a week, no extra minion/outfit codes of course, I feel that would be OK as it would greatly improve the QoL (hah) of the event. From the sound of the complaints here before Fanfest it was because folks didn't want to pay $30 for digital items and didn't care about the stream anyway...
But I don't see why, having paid the $150+ to attend, I would not be entitled to watch the full event regardless of whether life suddenly happening.
The live stream was included as part of the 2014 Fanfest ticket for attendees.
It seems to have been one of the many things that was cut from the budget this time around, despite them mentioning that the Fanfest was even bigger this time around. "Bigger" only seems to have applied to the number of tickets sold.
Yup it a bigger price tag to attend both in person or via stream if that why they mean. The live stream was included as part of the 2014 Fanfest ticket for attendees.
