    [Dev Request] More Patron Dieties

I think it would be cool if the upcoming expansion expanded on the patron diety feature. Personally as an Au Ra I would like to make the Dawn Father my diety. I'm also very curious as to what other gods the new city states beyond Eorzea might worship. Another suggestion I have is to remove the stat bonuses assosiated with them, and somehow make it so that the chosen diety is visibly obvious. Perhaps on the forums, or when you look at another characters outfit, and grand company rank. Diety exclusive emotes and equipment might also be fun to persue.

As much as it would be cool, no.

And that is simply to keep the aspect of the twelve, the sacred, godly, twelve, intact. They are the gods.

And even going by the existing lore and hints we've seen of the Othard steppes, The dawn father might just happen to be a corruption of one of the twelve. Or he could have been an allagan that in ages past crossbred something into the Au Ra, much like the Ixal reveres an allagan flying squadron(?) as their goddess, Garuda. The Au Ra have their "Azim" steppe which only tells me that the twelve have been around othard for a very long time. Im sure we will learn more of this in the expantion.

The world of hydaelyn shows that there are only twelve gods. They may go under different names in different regions, but the number is twelve.

    That's just a theory.

    A GAME Theory.

Pun aside, I wouldn't mind if the 12 were more prominent to the story in some manner. Halone has an entire city-state worshiping her more or less, for example, and that adds some intriguing flavor. However, her, 'Priests,' are more or less just Conjurers. I wouldn't mind seeing a new Healer class based around the 12 which delved into their lore and separated them from Primals somehow.

"As an Au Ra" Weren't you a cat two weeks ago? Also, the deity aspect can be ignored, RPers ignore it and fill the void with their own deity or beliefs in their own lore. The game doesn't need to be cluttered with more fluff content like deity-exclusive emotes.

...I actually like how this game is NOT about religion or if it is, it shows more of the dark sides of it - as in: Primals, Ishgard.
The whole Primal-problem revolves around worshipping gods and you, as Warrior of Light, as someone who might be close to a god himself by now (remember Thordans words...!) want to go out there, carrying your worship and slaughtering GODS of other beliefes? Yeah, I dont think so...

If you'd looked closely into the lore you'd know that the whole point of the twelve not being that present is because it might turn them into primals - and no one wants that. When it comes to this matter, you're the Warrior of Light, not an Au Ra.

(Also: While Halone is ofc very present in Ishgard, a lot of other citystates have their special god too - Nald'Thal in Ul'dah, Nophica in Gridania, Thaliak in Sharlayan...)

while I wouldn't want them to be really prominent in the expansion's storyline, I would for them to be at least talked about more. It kind of just seems like they are an afterthought to most people. I would just like a bit more presence through the people that apparently worships them.

There's also the theory that the Dawn and Night parents might actually be the dragons siblings of Bahamut and Tiamat. But the real point is, only the twelve were actual deities and even then I have my doubts they were ACTUALLY divine. I'm feeling more and more the twelve were just warriors of light that ended up in the past.

Being a cat two weeks ago doesn't make it any less valid.

I've gotten the impression that the twelve are nothing special at all. Basically primals of the "enlightened" races, and no more actual gods than Ifrit or Ramuh are. The closest thing the FFXIV universe has to an actual deity is Hydaelyn (and Zodiark).
