You can summon temporary ones that give a buff of some sort and attack for a short period of time and then vanish. Contagion is overpowered and has made using ifrit useless so no point in having any other ones in the game right? Having them stick around temporarily would fit more with the lore of borrowing the powers of primals then to have them out all the time. The class is in need of a massive overhaul because it was rushed out and this is what they could come up with for the class at the time.
I agree somewhat, but I don't see that happening any time soon, if ever.
