STORMBLOOD Primals

Yes, it's that thread again. Just as we had one like this for Heavensward, we need one for Stormblood as well.
To the surprise of nobody, we are getting new primals. Chances are at least one of them will be a gigantic being with a smaller Prime version that we will need to murder in the new raid.
Question is: Can we guess them before they are revealed on the next fan fest?
I think we can.

Considering the Indian-south east asian aesthetics of Stormblood (not to mention the crimson lotus part of the original title) I think Asura is pretty much given. Same as how Alexander was predicted by almost everyone for Heavensward (although with a different background and context than what was expected).

Due to Ala Mhigo and Garlemald both famous for its magitech I will also hazard a guess that Doomtrain will finally show up.

Then again we might get an entirely new Primal like Ravana.

Nah, I believe the actual comment was they were going to work towards having more unique primals, not just grabbing from older FF games. 4.0 is going to be a mix of that similar to how 3.0 is a mix of old and new.

As mentioned by OP, Asura would fit as a primal in 4.0, given the culture of the people.

But, he's a god? Much like Nophica or Halone? I can imagine the Spire as being a possible raid environment, but I doubt we'll be having any direct confrontations with the twelve.

Concerning Rhalgr, only proceed if you have done the story or are not afraid of spoilers:

[spoiler]The resistance was under suspicion to summon Rhalgr multiple times already so the thought of him beeing a Primal in the expansion is ot far fetched at all, I would even go so far to say that he will be the first primal we are facing[/spoiler]

Keep in mind that, to the beast tribes, what we call primals are gods. Further, even a non-deific being, King Thordan could become a primal, so it stands to reason that Rhalgr, or any of the twelve for that matter, could also be conjured as a primal.

Ultimately, faith + aether + need is all it take to summon a Primal. The 12 can be summoned

Louisoix's spell was actually summoning them, but he planned on killing himself before the 12 could manifest in full because they would have been no different from aether-consuming Primals

Whether the 12 truly existed in the past or a truly gods in unknown, but at the very least a Primal version of one of the 12 can be made.
