Considering Yoshi-P made a similar allusion to a future class 2 years ago wearing a Batman shirt; Dark Knight, I'd consider that more reliable than half the knee jerk reactions from the cinematic.
Well, it's not like we have cloth physics in game either. And between the two, which seems more likely to arrive in 4.0?
I kid, of course. My only reasons for thinking it likely are that they're finally looking at XC skill changes, and that Dancer has been hinted at previously. This is no proof, but it is good eye-candy. Dem cloth physics.
no they didn't..omg I wish ppl stop saying this lol.
the producer, Yoshida said in the key note, "the warrior of light is a monk, as monk is the job for 4.0 how drg was for 3.0 and as for the girl? You'll have to wait and see" lol so no one knows , they want us to speculate, etc
Why is everyone ignoring the fact that she does like 3 slashes in the trailer, and then in the official art she has a hidden dagger or whatever that is in her right arm? Even in the stormblood logo.
I honestly believe it's a new job, maybe not a dancer, but it's not a Monk either.
The thing that triggered me was the sudden cut-away from the weapon the woman was using that was not her fists, but the cloth with a blade on it that was used as a sort of mid-range weapon.
Weapons are the strongest indicators of new jobs, and if they were trying to keep Dancer under wraps, yet tease it slightly, having only brief instances of the use of the weapons would be the best theoretical method.
So yes, unconfirmed Rumor, but it does fit. Dancers often have moves resembling flowing martial arts, and historically FF dancers did use cloth as weapons (as well as daggers, swords, etc in more muti-faceted games, but cloth was often their most unique weapon) so seeing a glance of a cloth being a weapon is a heavy hint to us FF historians.
Looking forward to confirmation or debunking in the future.
Reference of the dagger/sword she has attached to her right arm
When you think of monks with ancient techniques, you think of Shaolin monks which is chineseAs a martial artist I'm pleasantly surprised they chose Chinese movements to represent monk. They have in the past don't get me wrong but it was much more visual in the trailer. Loved it.
As for the dancer debate...
I want dancer. I do. I just dont want that monk rip off class if thats now dancer ... which it's not...it's monk.
What if he knows everyone is expecting that and purposely misleads us this time? Moreover, doing such a gig twice in a row would just set expectations and is boring to boot. Clearly it's just a trap or nothing at all, people are just knee-jerk reacting to a random T-shirt because it alluded to something in the past.
Honestly, I'd just let people speculate.
The problem is this community loves to take speculation and get carried away with it. Doesn't take long to go from mere speculation to "SE promised X" or "Yoshi-P confirmed Y" and when it turns out those claims are false, the community turns on SE and blames them instead of owning up for their own knee-jerk idiocy.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
