Lore Book Revelations

Someone talking about the lore book mentioned the explanation for why dark knights use greatswords. Can anyone with the lore book post that here by chance?

All I gather from there is that the first dark knight forsake the shield, so the greatsword might be used for its size allowit to block blows more easily

the same blogger also posted the lore on BLM, WHM, SMN, SCH, AST, PLD, WAR, DRG, and MNK. basiclay everything but the ranged melee

The worst thing is when the Lorebook raises more questions than it answers. I had previously assumed that Popokkuli and Seserukka were the adoptive sons of Fyrgeiss but apparently not so, he has three strapping Roe lads of his own! And yet the Lalafellin twins been repeatedly described as the "Sons" in Amajina & Sons even though Fyrgeiss Loetkilbysn holds the Concern's seat on the Syndicate.

I had previously assumed that Popokkuli and Seserukka were the adoptive sons of Fyrgeiss but apparently not so, he has three strapping Roe lads of his own! My guess is he acts as a representative for them. Kind of like a CEO even though he isn't the owner.

Anyway I like more questions. If we new all the answers without getting new questions we wouldn't have anything to speculate about!

Fyrgeiss' entry is on page 134. I haven't found anything on Popokkuli and Seserukka in the book itself but they're described as the sons of A & S in the quest journal text for Wrath of Qarn.

I wonder how recently "& Sons" was added, considering Lady Amajina was 150 years ago.

I remember going on a similar search long ago to find Popokkuli and Seserukka's parents. I know their father was the guildmaster in 1.0. I know the guildmaster is not Fyrgeiss or a man in A Realm Reborn. I know their father is the chief foreman now. I know that Fyrgeiss is the chairman. I know there was some doubt over whether the Guildmaster / Chief Foreman / Chairman overlap(ped). I remember that their mother was Shalala.

I also notice that the Encyclopaedia Eorzea calls Fyrgeiss both Chairman and Chief Foreman... Unless anything from the above is mistaken, the parents should be Fyrgeiss and Shalala. However, the Fyrgeiss' entry refers only to three sons with all Roegadyn names... and no mention of Nenekko.

Something might be borked.

EDIT: AHA! Found my notes. I concluded that the boys father might be Checheroya, who was never actually mentioned, but appeared once speaking with Faustigeant. For starters, Checheroya would have to have some clout to not only speak to the guildmaster of the ALC guild, but as if they were peers. He also refers to "my boys".

Neither Checheroya nor Shalala have been mentioned in since 1.0.

A why not? I'll throw in another question to go with the ones about Yugiri, Rowena, and the number of afterlifes (is it fourteeen or fourteen times fourteee?). Anything on the Gold Saucer? Or something about the Manderville family that we didn't know?
