I hope in 1.2 we will be able to use ALL of the base colors for ALL of the items and not just the colors currently restricted to each item currently in place minus stats post patch. (ie. a lot of the new recipes currently only have 1-3 color options) There was no mention to this fact in either direction so it makes me worry... I don't want to have to wait until 1.21 or beyond to have full color choices available
I believe this won't be happening any time soon, as they would have to create a lot of colour alterations for items that currently don't exist. I believe it may make an appearance in 2.0 though. I could be mistaken, but I thought I had read this somewhere recently.

you are describing the current system, the new system is fixing that Im guessing this is how it goes: you create the base item you can then take said item and dye it or you can add extra materials to create an enhanced item which then you take the enhanced item and dye it.I don't think thats possible, you either make a non-enhanced item with a colour, or a enhanced item during the synthesis process. (at least until 2.0)
What I wana know is the enhancment caused by adding a dye during the synthesis process ? or is it a seperate item, can I make:-
A green robe with + magic att
A red robe with + magic att
or are they still defined by the dye which you are using ?
What if I want a Purple felt robe with + magic att ? or do I just have to settle with the choice of:-
A Red felt robe + magic att
or
A purple felt robe with no enhancment.
Personally I think they should have just made all items standard non-enhanced and dyable to any colour and left the stat allocation to materia, they are making this dye system way more complicated than it needs to be and more importantly how many items will this create from a database point of view ? (remember Yoshi-p said he wanted to add 24-32 different colours eventually)
Thank you, SE!
Add me in with the people hoping that instead of "increases Mind", you find a bunch of archaic adjectives to use, I completely unsarcastically love the heck out of that sort of thing. <3 (Also yeah: I'm pretty sure this is a stopgap until they get their inventory data structure sorted out in 2.0)
7UP!

Finding gear is going to become more of a PITA because of color/stat choices...

Is it coming out next patch? I haven't heard much about it. All I know is depending on the colors/stat variations, there could be 20+ versions for one piece of gear.

Oh ok if thats how it works thats not so bad.you are describing the current system, the new system is fixing that Im guessing this is how it goes: you create the base item you can then take said item and dye it or you can add extra materials to create an enhanced item which then you take the enhanced item and dye it.
The search function for the marketward should be in 1.20 according to what yoshi-p said, hopefully its half decent and allows us to search by level, class and type aswell as text.

Hi Corrderio,
Yah, I was worried about that, too. Luckily, "yes," they are releasing a Market Ward Search System for next patch as well. Joy.![]()
http://pc.rpgsite.net/interviews/327...-naoki-yoshidaYoshida: That’s because, at the time of 1.19, there was still a few things that we consider staples of MMOs that were still missing. Those two things are a very strong player search system, and the other thing being a market search system. At least something similar to what FFXI has with their auction house. Because these two are missing, we still can’t say that we’re beyond 50%, but as I said before, in 1.20, we will be releasing both of these features.
Enjoy~
I would hope like with the "dated" update, the gear we have now won't be changed to remove stats that people would want. It would be pretty messed up if people who had paid the gil to receive specific stats such as craftmanship or output find out that their gear now offers no benefits for the class they wanted said gear for.
Judging from the way it's explained I imagine that they are saying with the upcoming update, when you just dye the piece of armor it'll only dye the armor, however now when you craft the base armor you have the option to augment it with stats then choose to continue with dyeing it.
Though that does lead to another question, will dyeing actually be a synthesis process or will it be automatic? If it's a synthesis process that means if you synthed a Felt Robe (increases Attack Magic Potency) +1 but decide you wanted it to be green, you would have to risk losing the +1 just for the ability to customize how it looks. I think an easy remedy to this would be to integrate the way repairs and meld work. They could add an option for armor known as "Dye" and then you have the option to Seek Dye, or Dye yourself. Then a screen will come up showing you which colors are possible with dyeing said armor and since honestly this is for the sake of customization I don't think craft level should matter so much, as long as you have the dye you should be free to dye it yourself why add a handicap and force crafting as a requirement to simply dye gear. So ya, maybe they'll just allow the option to "dye" since they are saying with the next VU you'll be able to dye a piece of armor as much as you like, but if dyeing is a synth process each time you dye you risk breaking the armor in question, so it doesn't really sound like a fun way to customize if you have to put your armor on the line just to look unique.
I'm hoping for a better naming convention too. If they are consistent they can introduce better names for these pieces of equipment while making it easy to distinguish their properties from one another.
"Wizard's <item name>" would translate to an item with INT+ bonus. "Herald's <item name>" would translate to an item with PIE+ bonus etc.
