I'm getting a very strong Wuxia vibe recently from ff14. The Far Eastern garb and now this trailer with a monk and a woman in red.

I wonder if the woman was actually the RDM. It's not a far stretch to combine spell and fist together, especially since we already have chakra, and they did suggest that the Monks were only the martial arm of Ala Mhigo's religious order. It makes me wonder if RDM serve as Rhalgr's priests.

If it is the RDM in the trailer, it seems to combine monk and dancer, so we might see the offensive healer everyone was asking for, complete with their own unique stance for healing and dps (it's shown in the trailer!). It's still a big step away from canon where the magic traditions of RDM take on more mystical connotations though.

Still, the previous trailers showed off the AF gear, so it's not hard to imagine RDM wearing a Red cloth armor.

i'm thinking: there's 3 tanks, 3 healers, 3 dex jobs.
2 casters, and 2str jobs...
so we'll get an int job and a str job.

There some pretty nifty discussion in the other topic speculating RDM could be an int-based tank. I'd say it makes sense.

I sure hope so. Healer would be the biggest mistake for red mage that there could possibly be, even more so than arcanist having two branching jobs. We already have a dps centric healer in scholar, we don't need another.

I'd rather see an RDM dps before healer.

Technically you'd want another DPSing healer so that someone could actually share duty with SCH. Makes it so that SCH don't tend to be the go-to off-healer.

Nah, I wouldn't use an off healer, I'd just use another dps. RDM needs something unique, not to be a carbon copy.
