With the revealing of the new minimum requirements, Yoshida also announced that they're once again going to have the PS4 upgrade campaign. Which means you'll be able to get onto the PS4 without paying any money (besides what you paid for the PS4).

Did they confirm that the new expansion will not be released on the PS3? by Summer 2017, people really need to throw that outdated ancient allagan relic away.

Rest in Peace?
I think you mean Burn in Hellfire.
They said the ps3 version will stop working the same time 4.0 comes out.
Haha, yeah this. Normally I'd say just put your ps3 towards your ps4 fund but, personally I regret that immensely. I lost access to quite a few games I loved because ps4 had no backwards compatibility. Shame on me for believing since I bought so much digitally I wouldn't have any problems lol.
So yeah, if ya still want to play your ps3 games, just save up for a ps4 from scratch.
Well, that sucks. Thankfully I got a PS4 already in preparation for this eventuality, but still...
It had to happen. Supporting PS3 beyond 3.x would be absurd. They would essentially have to continue struggling to deal with its limitations five years after PS3's relevancy evaporated.
Only thing I could imagine changing for 14 would be graphics, and larger areas. Anything more would be doubtful as of now. When the limitaions drop, the intent of change and improvisation will come to surface, as I doubt there is absolutely anything they're willing to do differently after what Yoshi said during that one interview. But, I'm an optimist, I'll give it 2 patch cycles before deciding its the SOS (same old s***)
