RIP PS3 support for FFXIV

Besides mentioning that the minimum requirements for PCs was going up did they say exactly what it is or just in general that they are going up?

No specifics given but if you're nowhere near the minimum specs then I wouldn't worry. The people that struggle to run the game at 30fps on the lowest setting are the ones that should be worried.

Thanks, I'm over the current recommended specs so should be good. Will wait and see when they release it and worse case I can pick up a pair of GPU instead of running off one before the expansion hits.

Running the game on a laptop might not be possible anymore.

I so dreaded that this day would come. Me still playing on PS3. My hope is that I can continue playing even without the expansion and hope I can get a PS4 soon.

They probably got tired of designing around the PS3 memory and looked at the number of players on PS3 and felt dropping it would benefit the game in the long run.

For example they had to hide two modules to actually implement focus target on PS3.

* Server info and the EXP bar will not be visible while using the focus target function in the PlayStation®3 version."

They said they wanted to add new UI stuff for buffs which I doubt the PS3 would be able to handle if they already had to hide modules just so focus target could function properly.

You have until 4.0 (the expansion) drops. The second that patch is live, PS3 is dropped.

If people are serious about this game, They will upgrade, i started this game on ps3 and i ended up quitting for half a year because i REFUSED to keep playing this game on ps3, untill i either had a PC or PS4, (among other small reasons but this, was most of it) because i could not STAND the 5 minute load times, and, back when FATES were really popular. vanishing enemies/players, etc. You ever tried Odin Fate on a ps3 with half the server fighting him? Don't even bother.

I am still on ps3 and SD TV and I most likely play more than 90% of people in here.

Dual core CPUs are no logner supported and game is now tailored towards 64 bit OS. Expect to need at least 4 GB of RAM and a post 2008 processor

If they really drop the support totaly, they better add a screensize option like PC and PS3 has for PS4 too or make our charackters look more naturaly in general!
