Considering i don't check back to see my likes if any then no but honestly they are so incredibly grumpy and every post is them moaning i just felt the need to ask.
PS3 dropping support is going to be beneficial for the game, yes. However, that doesn't mean people are suddenly disgusting creatures for playing on ps3 all this time. Some people don't have the money for a ps4 and as much as I like to joke around with one of my friends that doesn't have ps4, I do it in jest. The stuff I read here is questionable and inhuman.
It's just PC players being PC players, as a console player you get used to their superiority attitude as it's the only way they can feel that way.PS3 dropping support is going to be beneficial for the game, yes. Here you are, generalising and attacking an entire group of people based on their platform of choice.
You just go to show that both sides have immature, angry children on them.![]()
And SE will report that they lost 750k users.

And in the end, we'll eventually see FFXI happen all over again when SE closed the doors on PS2 and Xbox 360 a few months ago. Sadly, I was actively subbed to FFXI from 2005 until around Nov 2015. At some point, FFXIV will only be available on PC with developers just keep it clean of bugs and other issues that pop up.
Oh well!

Yet i'm neither of those things. I'm just saying most of them are like that and this entire thread of people belittling Ps3 players just sums it up, if you believe it's otherwise then prove it to be honest.
Not sure what kind of TV you're using, but I'm pretty sure most modern TVs you can buy don't have a problem like that. The game looks amazing on PS4 compared to how it looks on PS3. PS3 version looked like someone smeared grease on the screen after I first played the PS4 version.
I mean, it's not like Sony knew FFXIV was coming to PS3 during the console's development.

Ending PS3 support absolutely frees up resources for SE. First off it's an additional platform that needs some level of custom code developed for it for every lower level functional change. PS3 and PS4 are not compatible code-wise and there has to be some level of platform specific development occurring.
Additionally the minimum support spec always holds back software development particularly for graphically intensive software. In this case not having to work around the PS3 memory and graphics restrictions will also free up some development and quality/testing resources.
PS4 will likely still be viable for some time. Although it is only at this point equivalent to a low to mid level desktop pc it is optimized for playing video games and so has more capability in this regard than a pc of equivalent specs. It is also running a more efficient, less background intensive OS than windows. So in this respect with PS3 gone it is low end PCs that are now holding the game back (even with increased requirements for these).
Finally, all of this only frees up the opportunity for SE to use these resources in developing further enhancements for FFXIV. What they actually do with this is of course up to them and may have no impact on our game.
