I have had a few occasions where I am in a raid duty where you have more than one tank in the party/raid. I go as tank, and I am the one that pulls the boss. Now, I think its common sense and that if no one says anything, and you are the first tank to get aggro, you keep MT, and the other should take a backseat to it, get on their dps stance or remove your tank stance if you dont have a dps stance at that level, and if you have dps combos that dont generate emnity, use those. I guess WAR is excusable to certain extent since highest potency combo is Butcher's Block combo and PLD is also excusable when at a level before getting their late dps skills.
Heres the thing though. I was in a Void Ark run as DRK and I pull the first boss, and Im MTing it, only for a PLD to steal aggro from me after me holding it about a good 15 seconds since fight started. I did at least two Power Slash combos on the boss, and after the first jump the boss does, he takes aggro, which I can only assume he voked and/or had shield oath with fight or flight and spamming his RoH combo. So whenever something like this happens, I take my tank stance off and let that person MT, to avoid having the boss go back forth between us. If you want to MT that bad, fine, just say so or pull first, and Ill let you.
I realize this isnt a big deal in stuff like Void Ark, but as a tank, am I the only one that gets annoyed by that when you are clearly MTing? I have had that happened to me a number of times before and I do not say anything, but this time I said in alliance chat that its not polite to do that and also sub-optimal, but I was responded rudely by a bangwagon people expressing their disbelief to what I said and "*cringe*". I get its just Void Ark, its dead easy and maybe nobody cares about tank etiquette in such an easy place, but I like to give my best at everything I do, and I still get annoyed by that. Goes without saying though that in harder content, OTing in tank stance and/or trying to take aggro/voking when there is no need to is just bad.
Thoughts?
