I never can get a group going in Faerie either. It's a shame since i wanted to test out Nocturnal in that specific fight, and that dark purple bird is my third favorite (Thordan and Bismarck are first and second respectively)

Did you try the Raid finder? Its possible people might be pugging for these fights (and that the ilevel of 250+ makes it more lenient than previously)

That or make some clear and learning PFs and see if anyone joins

Not sure about exact happenings across other servers, but I'm pretty sure the common behavior is that the old primal EX fights will have much lesser people attempting it (even if it's just from the previous patch).

This, together with the fact that Sophia EX was way way easier for majority of people to clear, I'm willing to bet that most are farming it for now. Weapons, Orchestrion Scrolls, and perhaps mount.

If you're just speaking from an observational point, I see the same thing too in Tonberry (or lack of rather). Guess my 99 tokens will have to wait. A. Long . Time.

Sophia Ex should be less important progression-wise in a few weeks. After that Niddhog should be about that common like Sephiroth was in 3.3.
It's not like nobody wants the song or the bird anymore. Right now Sophia offers weapons for alts, also a song and also a bird and even a quite easy-2-get bonus for wondrous tails if you want that.
But with PotD, next relic stage and 260 script weapon around the corner bird farms for every other primal should become more common again.
There are sure many others who linger for kill or practise groups but don't have the time right now.

All EX fights go through this, People burn them out in a week or 2 then they start getting more and more rare, especially due to the fact that you are assured your weapons if you spam them enough, so you have to spam them with the populace, i waited 2 weeks to finnaly start doing sophia and it was hard getting them, PF were none-existant and few and far in between now, RF takes no less then 20 mins for a fight each time and this was for FARMING. when i tried it on a second character for duty incomplete they took as little as 40 minutes EACH attempt just to CLEAR the fight at this point (and most failed), as opposed to PF being filled with them in the 1st week. since i only returned during 3.4 i'm not even going to bother with sephi and nidhogg because i know i'm not going to get any of them done without 2-5 days of PF and hoping 7 other people feel nice enough to do them, and even then, they aren't worth it due to the weapons being outdated and i not caring about the mounts.

in summery: you have to do these fights while they are new. in about a month, you're likely to find no one doing sophia at all besides late comers and people attempting to get the mount.

I really think it's because the old primals were put into Raid Finder when they should have been left in Duty Finder. Only the current ex primal should be in Raid Finder. I really hope they fix this as Sephirot ques were very quick and I would also like to go back and fight Nidhogg some more but in RF ques never pop.

EX Fights should be added to df right away not once the fights are obsolete. And really what is the actually reasoning behind waiting so long to add to df??
I am in the same situation as OP, have not even been able to try Sophia EX yet, all pf groups are farming or you must know up to a certain phase. Both myself and a friend are discouraged by this
And yes my friend tried a pf group, no bite

The weapons are pretty much junk with Sophia being at a decent difficulty with higher ilvl weapons, a i240 weapon being really easy to get and palace weapon being around the same based on secondaries. If they ever add the nidhogg bird totem turn-in/glowing weapons it will see an increase in activity. I don't think it is even part of WT. (Doubt anyone would bother even if it was when you can just unsync faceroll other stuff or do the easier 3.0 EX primals)

Pretty much if you want to farm an EX primal, do it before x.x5 (so first month for best results, maybe two months if the bird is being stubborn for some people) because they usually make the tome weapon available around that time (7 gears = 7 weeks) and a relic upgrade that either matches or beats the EX weapon. The same thing will happen with Sophia probably.
