    FFXIV on MacBook Pro

    So, I have a friend with a MacBook Pro with discrete graphics, wanting to try out FFXIV. Now I know the 14 day trial isn't available to her, nor is the benchmarking tool, but does anyone have experience with using FFXIV on a MacBook Pro, and how viable it is? The devs say it isn't viable, but I'd like to hear feedback from end-users if possible.

    The devs would be wrong. I have Windows 10 via Bootcamp and XIV runs really well on a 2012 MBP Retina. I'm not sure about the native Mac version but there shouldn't be any problems either way.

    Yeah, it'd be the native Mac client I'd be requiring for this. My friend does not have Windows on her MBP, and she's not very technically minded, and I can't get to her easily, if at all (UK train fares are ridiculous), so I'd need the Mac client as a reference.
