    No, they're there for everyone to use them. Even melee jobs can make use of it (yes, even melee vs melee)

    Activating a duel resets your stances, so a lot of melees will also make use of the walls to buff up. I've seen a lot of fighters sprint away from each other and take cover to activate stances, or even cast some pre-buffs like Stoneskin. Breaking Line of Sight on ranged players is the most obvious use, but it's not the only one.
