New expac's name is gonna be Stormblood? That...kind of sounds cool tbh.
All I want is zones with real meaningful content and rewarding exploration. I don't want to stand in town all day queuing for instances.
Which MMORPG doesn't...?
If I recall correctly, WoW has been losing 2 million subs every expansion since cataclysm. Legion? Too early to tell, Warlords had a big spike at the start too. Not that they're giving official numbers these days because of the bleed. Wildstar went F2P so fast, you might have missed it was P2P at first if you blinked. SWTOR had to go F2P as well, likely due to dwindling numbers as well. Black Desert didn't seem to have been a raging success either and is GW2 gaining lots of players at the moment? Not that I know of. FFXI? The Secret World? Elder Scrolls Online? RIFT? Blade&Soul? Most of them aren't publishing numbers, but I doubt any of those is currently booming in secret.
Meanwhile, League of Legends is the biggest game on the market by far. Dota2 and Counter Strike GO peaked at 900.000 and 591.000 concurrent players today respectively according to steam statistics. And I wager that is precisely where the people who left WoW majorly went - not other MMORPGs, but MOBAs. They come with bot games, so you don't even have to be into PvP to play them.
1. Make all the 4.0 areas all one big open "area" of sorts, similar to WoW.
2. More ways of gear progression apart from running your daily dungeons, special epic high level FATEs (think the Darkscale fate) that give tomes which can of course be limited to a certain amount per day, 24 man daily roulettes that give plenty of the current tomes, make high level 50+ roulettes give high level tomes, and so on. The idea is to give the player so many options that it doesn't feel like a chore, they can do whatever they're in the mood for and cap before the end of the week. SE can of course limit this system, so you can only partake in one of these tasks a day for the bonus tomes.
3. Entirely voice acted content, excluding side quests that only serve for leveling. This is a major undertaking, but voice acting adds so much immersion to the MSQ and boss fights in general that I think it would be a major game changer. It makes the world feel alive, least that's how I feel about it.![]()

It's called marketing, they didn't make any innovation to wow ever, but their marketing team is so good that they released a cash shop in a sub mmo and no1 said shame, while here on the other hand.....
Not to mention they actually copied D3 gameplay for an expansion and made you pay for it GG
