Actually just so I'm clear, I don't totally like what I have now, and I do want things to change. For instance, I like the abolishment of AP. That is great. I don't mind change, what I have a problem with is wiping out progress with nothing but an anonymous post on the Lodestone. This should stop. How about, if your Sentinel class is wiped, a free Gladiator class to make up for it. How about if your class is wiped or changed extensively, we will make up for it by giving you a choice that's meaningful. Not "your class is wiped by the way your gains are invalid" with nothing further.

you are confusing Square-Enix with Sony or GMC, this is an MMO RPG not a radio in your car, second point is why do you want something in return when you did actually nothing to earn those points on that class? So you are basically whinging about something you never worked for and want something in return when they took it away.

most important part of what you seem to be missing is, this is an MMO it is always going to have the haves and the have nots, you seem to want everyone to be on the same level, sorry that's not how life works. so recommending to having stuff handed to you on a platter just cause is not going to be taken lightly in a community like this one. there is always going to be competition in an MMO.

If they took your/my shield lvls tomarrow I honestly wouldn't care. All I've had to do with shield is put it on I didn't work hard the the lvl's..
I expect change at all times when playing a game like Final Fantasy.

how about, you level your thm 7 more levels to 50 if you wanna be a blm so badly. how about, you level your gladiator 11 more levels to 50 if you want to cross class the shield skills.

43 to 50? two or three natalan parties.
39 to 50? a couple iron lakes raptors parties and two or three natalan parties after that.

if you spent less time complaining about this and more time in game being productive, you'd knock that out in a weekish (2 hours a day for five or six days) or less and your entire argument would be rendered moot.

your argument is ludicrous anyway because *you never leveled sentinel as a class of its own*- it just came along with your conjurer/thaumaturge levels. *you invested absolutely zero additional effort on this* and were rewarded free skills as a result. yet you're acting like you're being punished for 50 levels of added effort? laughable.

so you effectively want your non-effort resulting in free skills to be compensated for more free skills for no effort?

you could've just said so from the beginning rather than parading around with this ridiculous and completely unfounded sense of entitlement.

You hit the nail on the head with what you said... and honestly 43 - 50 can be done easily in 3 hours or less in a good party.

Reguardless. you can't put the genie back in the bottle. Not to mention, those who rubbed the lamp, have no room to complain.

That said, you have to admitt, for the most part, they have done a fair job at basing the majority of there direction off the forums feedback. Everyone needs to remember, is that there are 3 other full sets of foeums they are getting feed back from as well.

The reason people voted yes so strongly, was to fix the problems they complained about, not the problems they didn't complain about.
If they decided to delete everyone's character the day before 2.0, are you STILL going to return to; "Well, you DID vote for drastic changes."

(Deletion being done, solely to change all races into 1 new one, with a new world/story, and no levels/exp, or classes. Pure example of how this relates.)

This is what I was thinking myself. The general rhetoric from the previous posts is "if Square-Enix decided to turn your character into a walking lump of shit, embrace it, because you DID ask for radical change, didn't you?" Neptune still has a right to criticize changes he feels don't make sense - and IMO, invalidating the use of Sentinel on anything BUT the GLA class made me scratch my head. This is coming from a 50 GLA - I found it rather neat that the DoM classes had differing options on how they could play themselves - either all out with a two handed staff, or a bit more defensively with a wand and shield.
Edit: I see that now you have to level GLA to 50 to have access to shield skills. Well, that sucks. I know it's necessary for streamlining, but that sucks regardless - GLA's a pretty gimped class at the moment.

tl;dr - Change can be good, but change for the sake of change can be equally as stupid.

Folks these days. They just want instant gratification. I work for my achievements, and plan for any contingency, while still having 48 hour weekly work shifts and family.

If you really gave a hang about being a competent mage, you would have lvl 50 in both anyways.

The devs know what they are doing, and in the end the game will be better off, whether you believe it, or wish to be the victim.
