I think about this every time I have to go to the markets un Ul'dah. They kind of made their wealth a BIG DEAL. Really, I feel there should be a board right outside the Adventurers' guild since the Ruby Road is kind of a market too.
"Hello, I'm auditioning for the role of Ser Aymeric de Borel, and I'll be singing Electric Chapel by Lady Gaga"
Omg yes. Ul'dah is so dead except for the occasional newbie and/or Gilseller because it is so inconvenient to use x_X
I am convinced though that this is on purpose. The devs said more than once back in 1.x that they didn't like how everyone flocked to Ul'dah and left the other cities empty.
Now Ul'dah is so inconvenient, nobody goes there anymore..xD Goal accomplished >.>
(not that I mind, being a regular Limsa dweller..but it just seems excessive)
I like Ul'dah's thematics most out of the three starting cities, but also avoid using Ul'dah as my "main base" city to hang around in because of inconvenience with market accessibility.Omg yes. Someone pointed out it's "just a few seconds", and that's absolutely true. This isn't a huge earth-shattering problem that needs immediate resolution; it's a simple request for a QoL change to Ul'dah's aethernet to better accommodate players who actually like hanging around in Ul'dah.
Even if you argue that the developers have better things to allocate resources to, it's not like this thread is a demand to do it asap. I'm fine with it happening "at some point" when they have some free time to allocate to it. I'd like to bring it to the attention, though, because spending five seconds every time I visit the marketboard adds up when done continuously. Housing puts marketboards at a premium (you pay more the closer your house is to it), so it isn't like the developers are somehow unaware of the value of a marketboard.
The Ul'dah market board is only a brief walk away from the Quicksand teleport. I know the place has a bad reputation, but you're not gonna get shanked just being by it for a moment.
I have uldah as one of my free teleports and I can't say I've ever felt inconvenienced by zoning, which takes 2 seconds to load. Same with the jeweled crozier and the leatherworker guild.
"Ul'dah can keep their dusty markets, and their streets paved in silver and gold.
Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.
My loyalty lies with Gridania, with the Moogles and the tree spirits of old." -The Forky Conjurer
Really? It never feels that long when I'm playing. I had never timed it, but since it was a straight run, I guesstimated 5 seconds. Ah well, you live and learn. Still I think it's the fastest way from the main Aetheryte.
With PS4 and no SSD, it takes too long. But, when I do upgrade to an SSD, I anticipate some nice change. In the meantime at least I can remember where the weavers are if I need some cheap hemp...
