[Suggestion: Regarding Daily Rush vs First Time Dungeoners]

I know there is another thread on this, but I want this one to focus on the actual issue here: the Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium instances are currently poorly designed and generate a conflict between first-timers experiencing the story and daily farmers rushing through.

I'm aware that making a plea to change such an old content is probably fruitless, but considering how much effort is put into this game's story, and even more so, how much effort was put on THOSE DUNGEONS' story aspects alone (such as cutscenes and music) makes me think that it's a huge waste to have that experience butchered for all the new players because of how that system is currently working.

Anyway. With my point being made, what I'd suggest is that those dungeons are given a single-player version, (either by having NPCs filling the raid gaps or by making them solo instances period) or making separate qeues for story runners and daily runners. Any other ideas from players are welcome here too.

The question is why it needs to be fixed at all. It was a small test in design and it failed horribly. No other story dungeon follows its example, and to be frank, its incredibly outdated, and why it hasn't been changed yet, is simply due to the need to not throw man-hours at something that isn't really all that bad. It might leave a sour taste in peoples mouths, but the cutscenes can all be re-watched in your inn room, and while I understand this doesn't help at all, its the only option there is besides missing out on all the trash and bosses. If this one small thing is going to turn people off to playing this game, then I think they need to find a new game, and stop being nitpicky.

tl:dr - they tried something, it didn't work, they fixed it by not doing it again, can we get past it?

Well, seeing as how every single new person who plays this game has to go through it at some point, and it is built up to be this huge thing and does end up being kind of awful, no, I don't think we can just expect to stop hearing about it. If someone started this game two months ago, they've only recently went through this content for the first time, and it's still set up really awful.

TL;DR: When people are still forced to do bad content, you're still going to hear it's bad.

Anyways - My first experience with Praetorium was so bad it was hilarious. There was another new person, and the rest of the group couldn't be bothered to explain what all they were skipping or how they wanted to do things. We got "We skip pretty much everything, just follow the crowd," while they sprinted away. It resulted in the two new people getting lost since we had never been in there before, and left so far behind we were locked out of the magitek armor until we were teleported to the final fight - the only thing we got to participate in. My husband had a similar experience, and we actually mentioned that since the dungeon was so flipping easy now anyways they really should just offer the option to participate with an NPC party for first time people while we were laughing about it.

And yet you're asking the Dev team to fix something that has literally been in the game since 2.0 was launched. Its so old, and many other things have been added to help make the instances better, such as party finder, and undersized party, that help alleviate the problem all together. Yet you'd rather come here asking the devs to fix this rather than allocate time to other things. Yes people are forced to do it, but you are not forced to do it in the duty finder. Ask friends, make a party finder, do undersized and get help from people who will let you enjoy the story. Not everyone whos new will know this so help your friends and FC mates. It doesn't need to be fixed, fix it for yourself or others.

This is probably the most annoying part of the forums. You can't make any suggestions about any gameplay that could be updated without someone someone coming in and being... I don't know, upset? That you'd make suggestions that would make outdated gameplay better. Sheesh. For the record, plenty of MMOs overhaul old content, especially when that content is generally regarded as bad. A pretty neutrally worded suggestion isn't something to lose your mind over. Get mad at the people whining over not having things handed to them without giving any suggestions instead, not the people who suggest ways to make old content new players are forced through less awful.

The points are valid and stated in a pretty mature way. There's no reason to essentially insist there is no room for improvement when SE is still marketing to bring in new players. And solo players are a thing, by the way. Not everyone plays in a giant server in a large FC group - that's partially why Duty Finder exists in the first place.

I had the same experience like Una, and it took me about 3-4 runs to finally figure out what to do to prevent getting cut off from the group. When I see first-timers in there, I always tell them just to enjoy what they can from the story without worrying about getting cut off. Though I still dare not tank these raids as I worry I won't be able to keep up the pace.
