not much new stuff to discuss, SE has stated we won't get add ons because people will make parsers and abuse players over them.

and SE so far has decided they see more harm than good comming from them so they are currently not allowed.

other than that you can discuss back n forth over them in which case i will be in the back ground with popcorn

As an aside, I believe this is slightly inaccurate. IIRC, SE has said they do not want to add a parser themselves because in their view doing so would indicate a "right" way to play the game and create a more hostile environment for worse performing players. They don't want this, so they won't add a parser.

I don't recall hearing much about add-on support recently, but I strongly suspect ffxiv isn't getting mods for the same reason Fallout 4 isn't getting mods on the PS4. I do recall the devs saying they want to maintain the same experience on all platforms, meaning no mechanical advantages (allowed by the TOS) for a given platform. So, in theory, they could have a whole subsystem for mods already present, but they would leave it inactive until they could make sure mods would run on all systems. However, if Sony won't support mods for ffxiv running on the PS4 (much less the PS3) then no one gets them. What precisely the problem is could be anything. It could be SE has to thoroughly check each and every mod that it doesn't crash the game, cause corruption, display something that changes the age rating above M, insults Sony, etc. It could be Sony demands that all mods fall within a certain memory range and are available on PSN. It could be Sony is asking for more money that SE is willing to pay for free-range mod support. But one way or another, I'm gonna chalk add-ons not being a thing to the SE-Sony relationship in conjunction with SE's policy of the same experience across platforms. (if someone does have a reference to recent add-on discussions, then please direct me to it)
