Leve menus are vexing my essence

The leve system is the leve system. I have come to terms with it. I have not however come to terms with the system for actually getting leves. Since this game finds numerous other ways to squander my free time outside of "fun time" perhaps you friendly developers could find it in your heart to take my feedback under advisement.

This post is specific to the crafting leves, as I do not participate in the other leves, thus, I can't really expand on their interface. I do recall it being similarly annoying and essence vexing though.

    1. Do we really need a menu showing each job?
    2. Do we really need a sub menu showing 3 sets of levels?
    3. Do we really need non descript cards that don't tell you anything without clicking on them to pop up yet another sub-sub-sub menu?

How about just laying it out there? When you click on the leve npc he brings up a big menu. On that menu it lists entries as follows

Job - Level - Leve Name - Reward - Location

Lets use a visual aid. Imagine a menu that looks slicker than this ASCII example:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Job----------Level---LeveName-----------------Reward----------------Location--------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Goldsmith---40-----Unimplemented Dreams--10 Electrum Ingots----Camp Clandestine--
    Goldsmith---35-----Wishful Thinking-----------3 Gold Ingots---------Camp Far-a-way----
    Weaver------20-----Obtuse Ideas--------------12 Moko Grass---------Camp NoLevesHere
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You get the idea. This would effectively eliminate several menus and make a singular menu much more informative, expediting something. Since you guys shouldn't have to build a new server to change menus, this feels doable.

My challenge to you developers is to do this, please.

I'm in support of this. I really don't like having to open up each individual leve 'card' just to see what level the leve is, only to half the time discover that the level is too low and unuseable.

Hm, I think the best way to respond to this would be to answer your questions so.

    1. Do we really need a menu showing each job?
Yes, not everyone is leveling every craft class and not everyone is on their craft class when they obtain leves so being able to select which hand craft you want makes it easier to go through the list. Judging from what you're suggesting it sounds like you want the menus to look like the Market Ward item search function which to me would be an eyesore. Not only would you have to go through the list to find your craft but it would just look messy.

    2. Do we really need a sub menu showing 3 sets of levels?
Before there was only 1 list of up to 8 leve cards. The reason it changed to three was so you had a better chance at doing leves in your leve range, before it was pretty much you had maybe 2 leves that were in your leve range out of 8 and then you would have to wait for a leve reset to occur before you had a chance at doing more. With how it's setup now it's a lot easier to get leves in your leve range and they at least condensed it into 3 rather then doing every 10 levels.

    3. Do we really need non descript cards that don't tell you anything without clicking on them to pop up yet another sub-sub-sub menu?
The cards are Descriptive in the sense that they let you know whether it's in the town or at a camp. Honestly the best strategy to do would be to always grab the card that is inside town til you aren't being offered ones with a decent xp rate. Then you can grab the other ones that need to be sent to camp to reset the leve cards and start the process all over again.

But ya, the change in question just sounds like it would make things look ugly cause what I"m getting is this. I currently have a majority of crafts at 20 and two past 35. With that in mind my menu would have the following:

10-16 Alchemy/Armorer/Blacksmith/Culinary/Leatherworker/Weaver option for a total of 60-96 line of quest info.
    15-24 Carpenter/Goldsmith 30-48 leve option

In total I"d have 90-144 lines of information when choosing a leve. If it's done alphabetically then I might have to hit the next button once or twice just to see my weaver leves.

In a sense you might actually end up creating more unnecessary menus when the way it's setup now allows one to condense it to their craft focus. Another thing to keep in mind, while I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe it's impossible to do something like grab a goldsmith leve for camp horizon for the rank 1, 20 and 40 range since you can only do one of those at a time. Basically what I'm getting at is because of the way it's setup every time you picked a leve that sent you to a camp the list would most likely have to refresh itself to remove the camp that you just selected for that craft.

Personally speaking though I spent 34-36 using leves to reach 36 goldsmith and found the menus to be quick and easy to go through, I pick the 20 range, checked out to see if the ones in town were good, did them, then repeated the process. When they fell flat I would either wait or grab the camp ones, which ones? I'd just look til I saw the ones I wanted, for me there isn't much delay when checking each card so I don't really have an issue with having to look at the card to see if it's the leve I wish to do.

I think local leves should be picked up in the actual guild.

I also think each guild should have "sub-stations" where you can pick up leves in non-guild cities to do work in your trade for the local population, as a representative of the guild in question.

Terrible idea, I completely agree with Airget. Rows and rows of information versus going through 3 lists, which honestly make sense.

    Job >> Level range >> Leve description >> Accept/Deny

    It's not even slow.

Note: I could dig what Wynn said.

And we need more level ranges other than every 20.

That seems reasonable too. Put guild leves in the guild. Just do it with minimal menus right?
