    Yes that's what I mean.

    In WOW/FFXIV2.0-3.0, people are blaming each other, because "you don't know how to deal with the boss mechanics/you haven't watch youtube."

    In FFXIV1.20-1.23 you will make some best online friends ever,
    I heard that FFXI is even better "your team wiped in a enemy stronghold? your FC(linkshield) will gather a group to rescue you"
    people fight & die for you, and you give your life(character^_^) to others too.
    it's brotherhood. such gaming experience is amazing, I've never experience this before until I played FFXIV 1.2x (I didn't play FFXI, it's sad)

    It's not something like "Oh you play so bad, you wiped us, you are wasting my time, I will leave now, I just want the loot/tomes ya know?",

    in this regard ,FFXI/FFXIV 1.20-1.23 is 100 times better than WOW. "what? you want unsub? how dare you abandon your brothers? just pay forever & play ^_^"

    It's sad that Yoshi & his new team don't know how to make a REAL mmo....

    Um, no. This is not true at all. In FFXI you were expected to have every step of every quest and/or dungeon researched before doing anything, no exceptions. If you didn't hold your weight, people would kick you, and that's assuming you got anyone to help you in the first place. It's possible this was less common, because if you weren't good in FFXI you never got far enough to do any content anyway. That's not a good thing, by the way.

    Basically, you're comparing having a static group of friends to playing with strangers. You can still have a static group of friends in FFXIV, but playing with strangers was nearly impossible in those old games. Again, this is not a good thing. Don't romanticize anti-player game design.

    I heard that FFXI has some very hardcore content too(even harder than WOW & 2.0/3.0).
    I mean the "midcore" content

    In FFXIV 1.2x, we played together every day, doing job quests, leveling up, collecting dungeon keystones together, & made a lot of new friends,
    it's memorable ,it's FUN! the game binds us together!

    I joined 2 statics in 2.0, because gear is meaningless in this game, we don't raid anymore, we just do some DF stuff & logoff now....

    I wasn't referring to hardcore content, I was referring to all of the actual story quests, and a good number of the sidequests as well. It didn't matter if the content was "hard" because it was all time-consuming, required you to find a full party, and gave you absolutely no incentive to do content again. Basically, it was the reason we have a Duty Finder now.

    In FFXI, just leveling at all required you to shout in town, sometimes for quite a while. Most jobs had no soloability at all by the middle levels, so if you were a job in low demand (e.g., loldrg) you were just out of luck.

    I understand, it's great that when you can make friends by having to work together... but if you don't play on the same schedule as other people, or your friends aren't very good, the game becomes unplayable. And then you quit. This is why MMO design changed: old MMOs required far too much investment to attract a large audience.
