I've been in a few raids that vote abandons after the first wipe, wasting my time. I think people that vote NO should stay inside so their efforts haven't been wasted.

'Cause wiping on an easy content because of people slacking ain't cool. The fact that one people can litterally wipe the whole raid group is a real pain.
The real waste of time is doing a raid that you know it's gonna be painfull and long. Just go back in and pray for a better group.

Because I am super patient and tend to be the mediator in situations, I don't like to use it and would rather help people work things out when it comes to wipes and arguments in a party.

Sometimes, however, it works better when the people who truly don't want to be there can leave as they wish to leave. I guess my least favorite time to use vote abandon is on patch day when its logical and understandable that the majority of people in the new content are going to be -new- at the content, therefore vote abandoning over wipes is kind of pointless and just makes things more time consuming but it usually wont result in a fresh group of people who know the content well.

I've always been an opponent of the vote to leave system, it's a horribly designed system that does more bad than anything. As in the end those who wanted to stay get removed regardless and have to start from square one again on whatever content. I had 3 A11 runs drop in a row, two of which were because of new players and one due to players not putting forth effort, but rather contented with the issues the groups just threw up their hands and voted to leave. Even when groups become vocal when the quit option pops up, telling people to work things out in this game doesn't really amount to anything.

Really, I think this because SE designated a 30 minute timeout, I've noticed more people will quit after someone takes that hit. If no one takes that hit, in my experiences that's when vote to quit pops up. Maybe it's time for SE to revaluate how it handles players quitting. But either way, this system has come under scrunity for sometime now with no real sense of changing coming soon.

Basically me here, don't wanna waste my time with:

So im just gonna start a vote abandon or wait someone to take the penalty.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but don't believe you can if they aren't in the same alliance (with regards to 24-man). :/

And then there's always them purposely engaging bosses/trash to avoid the attempt to vote kick them. Had a SMN do this is Weeping City back around week 2 or 3 of it being released. They managed to get out of a vote kick three times by engaging before we could get it up. Finally got them on the fourth try though.

I just don't like the idea of people vote abandoning in 24-mans after 1-2 wipes. Especially if it's something like Tower, where the queues are long anyways because it's not content a lot of people do (except for glamour or for the 230 relic step). I know more people probably do it now for Tails, but I still sat in a WoD queue this past weekend for over an hour before it popped (wasn't solo--I was queuing with a couple friends).

This feature is toxic. Even if half of the players agreed to quit, they're still forcing the other half to quit against their wills. Why don't let the people who voted no to stay?

I'd like the vote abandon to only kick anyone who says 'yes', especially in places like POTD where people abuse it simply because they're not happy with THEIR rng, wasting my time because I get kicked out, potentially losing my GOOD rng with arms and armour. .-.

I do think that it would be good if it would allow you to leave without penalty after the "content is no longer sealed" for the third time.

A lot of people are just sheep pressing the yes button out of some kind of herd mentality. I've been in groups where all but one person are being positive yet if that one starts a vote to abandon people press yes anyway. It's a get out of jail free card for some and it makes them lazy and unwilling to even try to win.

IMO the vote abandon needs to have more restrictions placed on it, such as a specific number of attempts before you can just give up.
