Vote Abandoning

Is there a way to get rid of this function or fix it? I feel people are using it more to troll than to actually benefit others. They spam it repeatedly or use it when content is easily doable but they themselves aren't having a great time. I just spent one hour in Weeping City to have people argue over Ozma, and then vote abandon... If people need to leave, just take the 30min penalty and gtfo of my duty finders. I'll gladly wait for other people to join a party in progress. Thank you. /rantover

Vote Abandon will only work if most of the group vote to leave. I don't know exactly how they could fix it any more than that and I think it serves a valuable purpose so removing it doesn't seem like a good idea.

Frankly I don't see it used that much.

Apparently at least 12/24 people weren't having a great time either.

Still in that case it should be 12/24 people leave the instance with no penalty while the rest remain and wait to refill. Least when it comes to raids I feel those should be an exception to the vote dismiss rule of majority and every leaves. Better yet, let it be a new option.

I've been in a few raids that vote abandons after the first wipe, wasting my time. I think people that vote NO should stay inside so their efforts haven't been wasted.

There's nothing wrong with the function itself and I don't think that we need it removed. However if people would actually read before clicking "yes/no" we wouldn't have these kind of issues. Instead of swinging the ban hammer and suspending accounts for so called kindergarten offenses, you know the ones were kid A complains that kid B stabbed him with a pencil... it would make more sense investigating how many false vote kicks/abandons have been issued that day, and suspend these kind of accounts for a week. Maybe they learn to read after being offline for a little bit and it's less frustrating for others.

The entire reason for vote abandon is because half the group feels that it isn't working out, and in cases like me consider it a waste of time to continue as nothing good will come of going on, staying would be silly because chances are you will spend more timing waiting for the group to refill and continuing to wipe for whatever reason caused the vote to begin with then just leaving and starting over. it's fine the way it is, you can't spam it because there is a cool down for each person using it.

I get the distinct feeling when this happens it's usually tanks and healers, since they get an instant queue with no penalty if the group abandons anyway, thus losing nothing really. That said, it does take at least half the party, so in larger groups some other people have to agree as well. The tool works fine- though when someone spams it after it ceases to work the first time, I do get annoyed. That's when I weed out who it is and kick their sorry arse out myself.

I wish there was a way to prevent that. Like if a vote abandon is denied, you can't initiate another one for a set amount of time. It's really irritating when people spam it, especially after its rejected 2-3 times. Do they think people will suddenly hit yes the 4th time?

In response to another user: I've been in 24-mans before where more than half of the people left (mostly the tanks and heals) and we still managed to fill back up because everyone asked their FCs and LS for help. And I am always grateful for it if I queued as a DPS, because then I don't have to get booted out only to wait in another ridiculously long queue.

I usually say no to vote abandons because I don't like to just throw my hands up in the air and give up when I know the content can be done. Especially if I waited 30+ mins for the queue, and if the only reason we're wiping is because a few people are trolling and making us wipe.

Let say, devs give us an option to Stay in VA. 24-ppl raid wipes 3 times at Forgall and VAs. Five people left waiting for refill. What happens next?
1. Players who check "in progress" will redirected into that instance - but immediately leave, as filling the ranks will take more time then queue from the start.
2. People will uncheck "in progress" - they don't want to get in orphan raid. Groups with 1-3 missing members won't refill. FC members won't join those groups either - because if they try, game will redirect them to an orphan group.
Outcome: several stubborn/troll players destroy the entire "queue in progress" system.
