    Are we ever going to be allowed to stay inside our houses after a duty?

    So many people hang around in the gardens of their houses but if you go inside it's a ghost town.

    I think the main reason for this is because if you queue into a duty, when you get out it kicks you outside, people just get bored of constantly having to zone back in.

    The main reason I've noticed this now is because SE went to all the trouble of making lobbies in all the apartments... but they're completely barren cause everyone just stays outside in front of the place.

    Can you change it so we don't get kicked out of houses when we get out of a duty so people will actually go into their houses?

    It used to be that way then they ran into a issue where you would end up stuck in furniture or on top of a cube that is suppose to be your house when you came back. Instead of fixing it they just pop you outside, much easier for them.

    This is the cause - it was explained in a past Letter from the Producer LIVE summary (found here) why you appear outside the house after logging back in/returning from a duty if you departed inside, and it's to do with how the game renders and stores the house/room data:

Considering that information was from two years ago, I think it's probably something that has been dropped to the bottom of the pile sadly.

    As I recall it actually has to do with instancing/server space or something like that. They commented on this a while ago, but basically you shouldn't hold your breath OP.

    Pretty much this.

    You're essentially instancing from an instance. It would become a major drag on system resources.

    What I don't understand is why, if houses are set up similarly to inn rooms in terms of how they are stored when you're logged out or elsewhere in the game, then why is it possible to log in or return from a duty and be in your inn room, but not in your house. The explanation totally falls apart around that single fact, and the lack of consistency makes it hard to accept that it's really a fundamental problem with the game and just not fixable at this time (Or that it would take too many resources to fix and therefore has needed to be shoved so far to the back burner that it appears to have fallen off and gotten stuck in the gap between the wall and the back of the stove).

    Maybe they can pick it up again now that apartments have made housing more widely accessible, so you're less likely to have people pitching tantrums on the forums that they're working on other aspects of the feature because person X on ridiculously overcrowded server Y doesn't have a house yet?

    I imagine because all the items in the inn room are static-- the position data resides in your game files. With your house, all of the positional data for your furniture is on the server.
