I don't think furniture stacking may remove immersion (as long as it doesn't mess up their barriers in housing...ie coming through to the other floor. Reason being is we're in a fantasy world where people can throw spells around, have people come back from the dead. A furniture stacked house could be presented as a haunted one. There are people currently building rooms that trap players and you have to clip through the items to get back out. Clipping through furniture happens in the game way too often. I guess it should be prevented because it "Breaks Immersion".

All this belief about Japanese housing goes out the window when you see posts like

For that third picture you linked, would you happen to know what furniture they used to create that pillar with the cutout?

For the Wood cutouts on the White Partition (dyed Black) they're clipping the Wax Vegetables.

I'll have to give that a try but doesn't change my opinion that if it's flat and solid I should just be able place an object on it.

None of my post ever disputed this, I simply gave a way where it was possible? I feel the current way is cumbersome, and support the OP's post. That doesn't mean there isn't a workaround to some of these issues.

I wasn't trying to imply you were. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Cumbersome is a good word for the process. Another problem with hacks that rely upon holes in the code is they can always be closed without any notice.

Came back and realized you may have meant the Wood Corner with the lighting. So making a different post for that particular one

I find the back of the Eorzean Map and backside of the Mounted Wall Shelf the most useful for creating panels. If you see my own house you'll see I used the maps to create wall planks and placed the wall planters slightly behind it and floated all of them.

i'd like to be able to do this...i mean...stages...instruments...would be nice...i mean i can put a top tier massive aquarium on a table...but i can't put a piano on a stage -_-

Unless you are actually Japanese it's probably best that you stop using "but it's Japanese culture" as a reason things shouldn't be added into the game.

Posting this here since this thread was already going. >_> I just want to actually place instruments on the stage, like the description implies that should already be done. Considering the instruments came out first, it wouldn't surprise me that this was an oversight after stages were made into actual items. I just want a classy looking bar in the mansion, and nothing says class more than alcohol with a full band playing.

Speaking of the instruments, I wish we can get some sort of NPCs that pretends to be playing said instruments. Would definitely make things look more lively.
