PETS VS MOUNTS Why not combine both?

I have always loved the pets that help you in battle and have found mounts rather one dimensional and boring. (don't get me wrong I LOVE my Choco!)

But what if a pet can be used as a mount AND help you with battle?!
Say you summon a pet and this means it comes and you sit on it and when it is there you can execute special battle commands? this way you don't have to sacrifice a solo players stats cause you'll be doing it TOGETHER!

This also means you can ride and move with your mount/pet, and summon out of battle.
Of course the pet will be on a timer and you can dismiss before the timer runs out if you want to go back to solo battle. Kinda similar to Eidolons in FFXIII?

Anyway I also think that maybe each class can get a special pet/mount based on the job/class so it eliminates having to make a new summoner job...

You know what else would be cool? If we could crawl inside our pets and use them as costumes!

though i think in the first "letter from the producer Live" Yoshi had mentioned something about both "Summoner" and "Shepherd" classes/jobs to eventually make their way to Eorzea and that these two classes will work together hand-in-hand opposing but complimenting eachother. not sure if that's already in the works but if is, it'll give the whole traditional FF summoning a whole new spin. Whether for the better or for worse, that's to be seen lol, u never know, could be awsome
looks like we're gonna have to have a lil patience for that lol (which is something most FFxiv players have anyways :P)
i want the floating eye (ahriman) mount/pet!! ...not sure if i'll wanna 'crawl into it' and wear it as a costume tho, rofl!!
