    So Why Is It Always The DPS Who Withdraws?

    So I've just done Navel (Story) for the first time and it took FOUR attempts to get a party through Duty Finder, every time it was one of the DPS who withdrew?

    I of course signed up to this Duty specifically (as Healer) but I am assuming normally the other three players selected for the group are all using Roulette. Is it possible for someone to 'know' before hand the duty the Roulette has selected so they can drop out even before starting?

    Given the fact I often see DPS complain about long queue times, not without reason I'm sure, I'm bemused why so many drop out when the queue pops.

    [edit]

    This is not at all the first time I've seen this effect, but it's certainly the most 'failed' pops I've seen in a row.

    Not sure. I remember back when I was leveling my classes, if DF popped and it was a story-mode primal, it was like winning the lottery. All of the DF experience in 5 minutes.

    It's because the DPS do have the longest queues, so they may end up doing something else while they queue, and then end up missing it.

    I generally assume most of the time that they aren't choosing to withdraw.

    The que times for DPS are usually a lot longer, so most of the time people tab out to read forums or whatever and miss the que pop.

    The only other reason I can think of is if they were hoping to get an "In Progress", maybe?

    I've seen DPS withdraw, I've seen healers withdraw, I've seen tanks withdraw. You simply, through the luck of the draw, got four DPS that withdrew.

    There are two reasons I can come up with for withdrawals. The first, is they are AFK. That's the withdrawal that you see them take forever to Accept, and they never do. The second is they are fishing for In Progress stuff. They don't know that you are trying to do The Navel, they figure they ar going to get something like Aurum Vale and would rather find something that has been mostly beaten to join.

    No, you cant see which duty you'll get when going in with the roulette.

    To answer your second question: I've got two theories - due to long queue times, a dps is more likely to let the timer run out because they went to do something else. And second: Say you have an hour on your hand, which is enough to run a dungeon, so you queue up and then... the queue takes ages. You're nervously keeping an eye on the clock, maybe begin to get ready for work and when the queue finally pops you have to choose if you can make a dungeon before work or not.

    Okay, I 'get' that long times means people get involved in other things and then miss the pop, but that's simply creating a self-fulfilling prophecy, surely?

    I've only every played healers in this game, apart from a short-lived tank which I quickly learned isn't my forte , so haven't faced queue times of any great length so haven't had to figure out what I'd do in case of extended queue times .. I was just curious as to why this happened, and yes I have seen the tank not accept once or twice but that has been pretty rare in recent times.

    Level a DPS and experience the 40 plus minute ques, then you'll "get" it better and this won't be a question anymore. DPS que times need to be sued. Not attacking you either, text does a horrible job at emotions. Or I just suck and come off as rude. >>;

    There are also 1 tank, 1 heal and 2 dps. So even if everyone withdraws with equal probability (25%), you have 25% change of tank or heal withdraw, but ~50% for dps (any of two)
