[Suggestion to Yoshida and the com] Third Dragoon alternative

The majority of players DO NOT WANT a wyvern pet for DRG.

And it's the majority " " that continue to want to change everything about this game instead of leaving well enough alone because this game isn't like every OTHER MMO. LMFAO That's like IF let's say Beastmaster comes out and some asshat says "I don't think BM should be able to tame goobbue because of this that and whatever" other BS they don't like. LOL

No offense but this statement and mentality ISN'T valid; it's moot. Give real reason other than following the crowd and being a lemming and make a reason and constructive choice rather then jumping off the bridge because everyone else is.

In Zantetsuken defense. The majority has given valid reasoning and irrefutable factual evidence in past discussions in threads many times. You didn't see them. It would be wise to look them over on your free time.

Screen clutter
Poor implementation ( control, focusing time/effort on it keeping it alive or up to standards, basically having to function as a pet job )
When it does die losing DoT from its strikes or possible other actions that people want to give it
Balance (I dont care how easy some people say balance is, its childish to glance over it)
FFXIV lore (we will be defending Ishgard from dragons in future content)
+w/e anyone else thinks

personal: (remember these are my opinion)
I did it as a pet, liked it, want something different
XI didnt have enough in the actual player
Dont wanna have to focus on something that is a gimmick and adds nothing of value
want more draconic themed abilities (lancet, breaths, reis's wind, dragons crest, wyrmkiller, dragonheart)

Oh no I HAVE read them which is why I made the statement I made. lol Doesn't seem to matter to ANY of those against a "pet" what other opinions are and reasons why or even the compromises suggested. Ok explain this to me, but I'm pretty sure the XI lore was ALSO that they were Dragon killers so this statement always stumps me as a "reason" not to have it?

Actually this part has been confusing me a bit, I think some people have some XI lore mixed up. DRGs and Dragonslayers were two different things in that game.

Arminibit : You hear more and more talk of the Dragon King Ranperre these days. They say that his top vassal was a dragoon. I wonder what ever happened to all the dragoons...

Ceraulian : I heard that to become a dragoon, you had to make a pact with a living wyvern. However, thanks to the dragonslayers, there aren't that many dragons left.

Arminibit : The dragon slayers keep down the number of deadly dragons, but the number of dragoons can never go up. It's a sad, sad cycle.

Arminibit : They say that King Ranperre's top vassal, the "Last of the Dragoons," collapsed after a battle with a dragonslayer.

Tbh I haven't played the game in 3 years and I haven't done the quest in 4 so yeah...I honestly can't remember but for some reason I do think there was a part of the story that mentioned the fall of the original drg and yada yada and training your Wyvern and proving yourself to cherish the creatures and not turn into said bad Drg idfk LOLOL. Been to long. If that's the case that Drgs are suppose to be Dragon killers than 1) don't call them Dragoons call them Dragon Slayers 2) STOP CALLING THEM DRAGOONS!!! lol

I think you're getting confused about what's being said. The stuff quoted by Volsung is saying that Dragoons and Dragonslayers in FFXI were two different groups of people. Dragoons died out because the Dragonslayers kept killing their potential partners. In FFXIV, Dragoons ARE Dragonslayers. They are specially trained by Ishgard to hunt and kill dragons. NPC dialog and lore supports this. Check out Azury Ariella's Lore Compilation / Guide for more info.

But you know what? Screw the lore. Only a minority cares about having wyverns. The majority of us don't want it. Most have already said they'd rather have a dragoon with dragon-like abilities. No one on the wyvern side has offered anything that could possibly make wyverns look appealing to the rest of us. And nothing us anti-wyvern peeps are saying matters to you guys. So I don't think anything is going to change here. Throwing a wyvern in there just to appease a few people who can't let it go is a step backwards to most of us.
