Can Cash Shop be a bit more reasonable

In most games, the fluff will always be the most expensive. Why? Because you don't need it to progress in the game. Fluff is the perfect way to make money because you will be milking the ones that do not mind spending the extra while not hindering the ones that want to progress in-game.

Not going to comment on whether the price is right or not, but on this argument instead. Please, people need to stop this. It's a weak argument at best and just downright self-center and/or selfish at worst. Just because you don't care about the glamour content as much as those who are supportive of this thread doesn't make it any less important than -insert- content are to you.

A valid argument is something like SE is a business, and business are out to earn money. Whether they are treating the customer right is another question. Seriously, just stop it with the "cosmetic content doesn't affect progress/give an advantage, so it doesn't matter" argument.

If someone came up to me & said "I'll buy your shirt off you, I love it so much, I'm throwing money at you, name your price, I'll pay it!", do you think I'd say "Sure, it's only worth $1"? Hell no, I'd think to myself that the idiot wants it so much & doesn't care about the value of money that they will have to pay $100.

That is **EXACTLY** how players reacted to certain content when they saw it & SE reacted exactly as I would - cough up, fools. Sorry 'bout it, you brought it on yourselves.

All this talk about the Chinese dress, but not a single complaint about the fact that they locked an emote behind a $150 statue?

I mean, don't get me wrong, $150 is a perfectly fine price for the quality of the item, but I find locking an in-game emote behind an item of that $ amount pretty crass.

TBH I find locking digital items behind limited-quantity physical items crass overall, at least with a digital item in a digital store they never run out. Two years from now you'll still be able to get that Chinese dress (assuming ffxiv sticks around), but good ****ing luck trying to get the Odin emote or a soundtrack pet.

That said it'd be nice if for $18 you got the Chinese dress on all characters and not just one ;_; JMO obviously.

I'm hoping some of the newer things go on sale. I like the mount and the Chinese dress, but it's starting to get to the point that I can't justify the most recent prices with how I would use the items in game.

This is only true because of a technicality. You have to pay the subscription fee to access to the game regardless of whether or not you buy these items. The same could be considered true of a movie theater's concession stand. You can't simply go in, buy concessions, and leave. You have to buy a ticket before you can enter and buy concessions.

I have to make a statement about the movie theater comment...


The local theater here will gladly allow you to go in just to buy concession items.

Concessions is the only way they actually make any money.
