So... miniatures now?

So... what happened to the neat and creative furniture we use to get from trial/primal/raids, hope they're not going to stick with the miniatures. Kind of miss seeing what interesting stuff they come up with, these miniatures are pretty boring. And to be honest think miniatures would of been better elsewhere, like an achievement for completing the trials/raid so many times, or something of that sort... and with full sets not just a few primals... but yeah if could have one, rather have some awesome furniture than another paperweight trophy... >.<

If I had to guess I'd say it probably has something to do with the lack of space. Would a huge replica similar to Sophia's statue in Azyz Lla be pretty awesome? Definitely - but it'd take up a lot of space no matter if it were an outdoor or indoor furnishing. The majority of players just don't have enough room. At least with a miniature pretty much everyone can have access to it - assuming they have at the very least a FC room or an apartment.

They don't need to be furnishings; in vanilla WoW when a raid party defeated Onyxia or Nefarian, their heads were displayed in the main cities of each faction and you got a shout from the NPC so everyone in the city heard, plus an hour long buff for everyone in the city.
Something like this could be done for defeating the big bad in FFXIV, whoever that is.

It's usually the other way around. One of the difficulties of working on a house is how to fill all the spaces with the limited max item count we get. Especially on large houses. So big items are usually not a big deal, you want a balance between smaller items for finer detail and big items to cover up spaces.

Agreed. The older pieces of furniture ended up being eyesores as they didn't really match anything else you might have in your house. The new miniatures are a much better way to do it as they can be made to fit into whatever style you use.

Personally though I'd like to see more things like the Bahamut Bust from T13. That was essentially a small statue but it could be toggled to have huge wings as a particle effect. More things like that would be wonderful.

Still much rather have furniture, have a med house and fit everything just fine with nothing really looking cluttered. They dont have to do away with miniatures, like I said they could've added them elsewhere, they could add something like achievements for 2.X primals, maybe with tokens for Rav, Bis, so on...while keeping to the mat drop for barding/furnishing thing >.<
