It's purely for glamour. As other have said, it's not exactly the same, it's actually only i180 and has a different "glow" effect.

I'd like to add that it's also not something that everyone is just picking up easily off of the ground. The recipe requires a drop from Ravana, so to obtain and crafts the parts yourself you would need to farm the fight. Even if you were to buy the weapon from the MB, it can be quite expensive....not everyone is willing to pay 3M+ for a variant of an existing weapon.

The only thing that makes your weapon obsolete is the fact that it's from old content.

Threads like this always make me wonder if I'm the only one that liked the simpler glamour, like the Baldur weapons or the Misericordes. Glowy weapons always irked me. :'D

So people being able to buy a different colored weapon that's lower in stats beats the one you got while it was the in thing lower your prize? Really? You still have it and it still looks different. So tell me how the new ones devalue the one you have? Please I would love to know. Cause heres the thing .... they don't. umm. you can get 10 tokens in 1 day from duty finder, the crafted weapon is far harder to get since it actually needs a rare drop.

Don't mind the Duty Finder, just do a 1tank 1healer rest DPS group in Part Finder instead. You skip about 80% of all the mechanics and can skip the adds, takes like 4 min per fight. Ravana EX is so easy it's laughable right now.
This is what I thought OP was going for when I first began to read his post. How nightmarish it could be to farm the weapons before, but now anyone can get it without even trying basicly.

I dont like to ruin the fights in party finder, I do extreme primals in duty finder pretty often, enemies should not drop anything if you do them unsynced.
